I've had to testify at a few divorce trials about dog ownership. Basically, the one that tended to the dogs needs (walking, feeding, playing, training) won possession.

    good luck

Try asking the ex politely first if they will share the dogs, and try to set up equal time..If the ex won't agree to this then I am afraid you will have to hire a lawyer to work it out..Mention to the ex that the dogs need both of you and it could be traumatic for them to just cut each other out..don't lose your cool no matter what they say, take the high road and be the better person..

dogs are considered property, so you wont get "visitation".. dont even bother asking for that to your lawyer or the judge!

You can try asking her for the dogs.. or they can be disputed thru court. Since you are each entitled to 50% of the property/belongings.. you may be awarded ONE dog.. or if it becomes a battle, the judge could just as easily tell you to sell the dogs and split the money.
