Anyone hear a Senator Dem. say?
I was just watching a news program and they interviewed a Dem. Senator who said that N. Pelosi is trying to strong arm the Dem's into voting for the stimulus, they of course had another Senator (Democrat) who said that he has never been strong armed by Pelosi, but said he did not know if that happened to the Senator...what a joke our Senate is!1
Meant to say a Democratic Senator ...sorry..LOL
Yes you are right, sorry again, she is in the house.
Rex- I did not know all the things that she could or could not do, great information, thank you.

I do not know about what was or was not said...but there are some replies that show a level of ignorance about Nancy Pelosi's influence on the Senate Democrats...
She holds the purse strings and access to huge re-election funds. That is exactly how she can strong-arm any member of the Senate, Democratic or Republican. For Dems, she just holds back funding...for Republicans she can shift funding to a Democrat running against the Republican, and force that person to have to spend more than they have or are able to raise...

Yeah, Speaker Pelosi is with the House of Representatives. A Senator of either party would have little reason to be influenced by her.

She's in the House, not the Senate, so she wouldn't be strong-arming them.
