Highland Lynx cat health concerns?
We're about to buy a Highland lynx. I know it's a pretty recent breed so I'd like to know if someone knows about any known health or behavior condition associated with that kind of cat?
Thank you

Hmm interesting. What do you know about this breed? The breed ISN'T the Highland Lynx. The breed is actually called the "Highlander". The Highland Lynx is the wild cat that was used to create this breed. You can't buy a Highland Lynx - it's a wild animal. The Highlander is a Preliminary New Breed with TICA. And it's really too new a breed to be around long enough to know about health issues.
I beg you not to support this breed. I was at a recent cat show and there was a Highland breeder there. The breed standard calls for a short tail but some breeders are DOCKING the tails of kittens born with full tails so they appear to match the breed standard. If you buy one of these kittens you're supporting this. It's bad enough people dock tails and alter ears to meet a "standard" but to start doing this to cats as well - disgusting.
