Why do so many Yahoo Answers have such unintelligent, ignorant, and false statements?
This doesn't account for everyone, because some of you do leave great answers. But for the rest of you...
Every time I read a question I see some of the most idiotic responses and almost challenges my view of the human race. How are so many people so uneducated with a tool such as the internet at your disposal? Its like people just regurgitate whatever they hear without any research or facts to back it up. And most of the time, its wrong.
I really enjoy Yahoo Answers, but either a lot of the answers are from people who are 9 years old, or the world has been getting progressively dumber to a point that its impossible to not notice.
Well, I sort of am declaring myself better. I dont post answers that are totally false. I see people answering questions and giving answers that my 4 year old nephew could do better with.
It just seems to me that so many people just say anything, no matter if its right or wrong.
And I do see now that people do that just to get points.
Agreed, Drama Queen. Thumbs up for you.

This is because it's a public forum. You get all types of people on here.
Sometimes people come on here because they genuinely like to help people and spread their knowledge, then you get "trolls" who go on here to harass people because they are bored.
I honestly hate it when people lie about serious questions, make fun of a serious issue, or just write anything to get points. This is very offensive considering some people on here spend a lot of time trying to help. If someone creates a false question or answer than they waste everyone's time... both the answerer and the asker's time.
I, personally, go on here because I love to help. Sometimes if I'm bored I'll answer a lot of question about one subject depending on my mood, but my questions are always answered to the best of my ability. If I can, I try and help. If I can't help than I don't answer the question... simple as that.
I hate the points deal because you should answer these questions to help people further their knowledge, not to earn these stupid points. I have 5,700 points with a 52% best answer rate. I don't get those points and best answers for leaving pointless answers. In fact, points encourage the kind of ignorant question leaving that we often see here.
Also, the Top Contributer Badge is very annoying! Sometimes I'm on here a lot and I get it, but then sometimes I'm very busy with my personal life then I lose it. I've been a TC many times, but I can never seem to keep the badge for more than a week or two. This is just pointless, it's supposed to distinguish people who help from people who don't, but sometimes people are just busy with a life outside of their computer.

Well it has to do with people just answering a question to get points. You probably didn't think about that... but hey that's ok.
You probably shouldn't distinguish yourself from other people as being best answerer on this site because your statement sounds to me like your declaring yourself the best. To me there are no such thing is idiotic responses. There may be ignorance in the responses but not idiotic.

The survival of the human race is dependant on finding a new planet
The quest to find another Earth dovetails with the call by Prof Stephen Hawking for mankind to venture to new worlds.
"The long-term survival of the human race is at risk as long as it is confined to a single planet," the world's best known scientist said recently. "Sooner or later, disasters such as an asteroid collision or nuclear war could wipe us all out. But once we spread out into space and establish independent colonies, our future should be safe.
"If we used chemical fuel rockets such as the Apollo mission to the moon, the journey to the nearest star would take 50,000 years," he said. However, by using matter/antimatter annihilation – Star Trek-style propulsion – it would be possible to reach speeds just below the speed of light and the next star in about six years.
Four years ago Dr Geoffrey Landis, of Nasa's Glenn Research Centre, estimated that a "multi-generation space ship" could be a serious proposition in 50 to 100 years. A colony ship or sail, consisting of a diamond film hundreds of miles across but just 20 nanometres thick, could be pushed towards the star using a two-year duration laser blast, created from light gathered near Mercury. Travelling at 186,281 miles per second it could reach a nearby star, Alpha Centauri, in 40 years.
I told a friend once that we need to live in another planet and that the poor people might stay on earth cause paiding for a trip to another planet would cost millions of dollars and as we speak humans already live in a space station in outer space but they only say it once than we never hear about it again. the rich get richer the poor get forgottan. only God can help us all he has the last word.
blessings to all.

Yep. this is made an mind-blowing distinction. I tolerate my slacker coworkers extra advantageous, because of the fact now with Y!A, i'm a slacker, too. If some thing takes place in my existence / relationship, i'm getting sympathy, empathy, opposite evaluations, put in my place, insulted and humor, all in a single question. attending to determine what human beings think of approximately issues helps. attending to determine that human beings have long gone interior the direction of the comparable, or comparable issues, helps. listening to magnificent very own memories, helps. Having human beings crack you up, helps. And, yea, i choose conventional medical care too, yet which could no longer provide me what Y!A can...
