Could someone do a quick Bangla to English translation for me? Thanks much.?
Simple phrase. I'm pretty sure I know what it means but a some words are a bit odd to me. I'm learning bangla slowly, so if you could translate it word by word that would be absolutely amazing. The sentence structure is tough for an english speaking person.
Anyway, here is the phrase..
khub bhalo lage, jokhon tumi banglay kichhu bolo
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoIs homosexuality a mental disorder? Reasoning supplied. This a serious question.?
So my question, is homosexuality a mental disorder? My reasoning behind this is that people who might be sexually attracted to children, animals, or anything other then a normal heterosexual relationship, besides homosexuality, is often classified as a mental disorder.
It is my understanding that people do not choose what they are attracted to. If someone is sexually attracted to children, that was never their choice. The same goes for someone who is sexually attracted to the same sex. That is also not their choice. Many people attracted to children are also very ashamed of it, in the same way that many homosexuals may be.
Now, do not read this wrong, I am not supporting pedophilia or anything of the sort. I am merely stating that both the attraction to children, the same sex, animals, or whatever else it may be, is completely NOT the persons choice. The person does not choose what their sexual preference might be. It will always be like that.
So, why is homosexuality NOT considered a mental disorder when being attracted to children, animals, etc. IS considered a mental disorder?
They are the exact same thing, an attraction to something OTHER then the opposite sex. They are ALL something the person does not choose. I agree totally that homosexuals do not choose to be attracted to males, just as I agree that pedophiles do not choose to be attracted to children.
So why, according to this reasoning, would homosexuality NOT be considered a mental disorder? You cant have it both ways. They are basically picking and choosing what is a mental disorder based on what is socially acceptable, instead of judging by how the brain should function.
As I said before, this is a very serious question and I mean nothing bad towards your sexual preference, homosexual or not. I am just curious as to why this is the way it is. Thanks for your time and patience. I hope to hear some good responses either validating, or intellectually opposing my view.
10 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoShould obese individuals be denied healthcare under reform unless enrolled in an exercise and diet program?
So according to research..
"Medical Problems - Less than 2 percent of all cases of obesity can be traced to a metabolic disorder, such as low thyroid function or hormonal imbalances."
That means the 98% of the obese in this country have no excuses other then they eat more then they should and are too lazy to exercise to stay in shape. So, us as taxpayers are basically paying extra because these people refuse to take care of themselves. We will have to foot the bill when they are hospitalized because they decided to eat themselves into a heart attack, diabetes, or any other medical condition that arises from being grossly overweight.
I find it hard to believe this 98% of obese citizens cannot find thirty minutes a day to do any form of cardiovascular exercise when they spend more then that most likely while overeating.
So, my question is. Should the obese citizens of America be forced to enroll themselves in an exercise and diet plan in order to be covered under the benefits of this new health care reform? The cost of this exercising and dieting plan will be much, much less then the costs pertaining to hospital visits and surgery because of obesity related illness.
As someone who takes care of himself and watches what he eats, I find it absurd that I will have to pay my hard earned money to fund the medical costs of extremely high risk individuals who refuse to change their destructive behavior.
Would you want to pay the medical bills of someone who knowingly shoots themselves? There is very little difference between these individuals, except the obese of our nation cost much more over the course of a lifetime due to multiple, if not dozens, of hospital visits because of their poor health and habits.
I believe by making them enroll in some type of exercise program, not only would their quality of life improve, many of the potentially life threatening results of obesity would be prevented.
6 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoPhotoshop Elements - Opening a 900 MB *.psd file - Program locking up?
So my mother does a bit of printing with Photoshop Elements and the size of her pictures requires very large file sizes. The *.psd files are on average of 800-1000 megabytes. Almost 1 GB. I read the limit to file sizes on Photoshop is 2 GB, yet she has a lot of problems opening these up after saving them. She can work with them fine and print them, its just after she saves them and wants to open them up later is when she has the problem.
Could too little RAM cause this? What could she try to do?
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoMonitor/Video Card Problem - Detailed Inside?
Ok so out of nowhere my monitor has these blue and red lines blinking all over the place. If I try to put the refresh rate at 60 hz where its supposed to be, it goes ape-**** crazy and I cant even read anything on the monitor because its going nuts. But, this problem is quite weird.
I have an on-board video card, and my PCI-E video card. I also have two monitors.
The current HD monitor has the problem with the PCI-e video card, but the other monitor works perfect.
The HD monitor though, works perfectly with the on-board video card.
So I have no idea if it is a monitor problem or a video card problem, since they both work under different conditions. The HD monitor works with the on-board video perfectly, while the non-hd monitor works perfectly with the PCI-E video card.
the HD monitor will not work in 1080p at all. the screen goes crazy when I try. I have to keep it at a low refresh rate and resolution to do anything on it.
Odd. I know. Any help would be a great service.
Btw. I already tried separate drivers for the PCI-E card. I also redid my whole OS totally. So thats not it either. I'm lost. Which doesnt happen very often, lol.
2 AnswersMonitors1 decade agoMost reliable .22LR rifle for a SHTF scenario? Bolt Action Vs Autoloader?
I currently am buying a Ruger 10/22 with an ATI tactical stock. I was wondering if any of you had to pick a .22LR rifle that had to last a very long time, and had to be dependable, what would be your choice? Should I go with a Marlin bolt-action rifle instead due to less moving parts to break? Or should I just upgrade the Ruger's parts most likely to break, and carry a few spare parts?
Basically, if you had to have one rifle that you had to depend on for the rest of your life, would it be a bolt action or semi-automatic?
8 AnswersHunting1 decade agoWondering what "Kar Kache" means in bengali?
I'm learning bengali slowly but surely, and sadly I cannot figure out what Kar Kache means. i think the spelling may even be Kacche for the second word, but either way I still do not know. Was hoping someone may be able to help me.
Also, if you may know of any good english->bangla dictionaries I would be glad to know. Most of them I found arent exactly the best.
3 AnswersLanguages1 decade agoScrewed out of my accrued vacation time after leaving company. Is this right?
So I was laid off and was recieving severance for the last six weeks. I thought I was supposed to get paid my accrued vacation time as well, but they told me that apparently when I first started working their, they pay you 80 hours up front so you dont have to wait four weeks to get your check? Ok. But now, they said that when I left, they subtracted that 80 hours from my vacation pay, and totally screwed me out of it.
Does this sound right, or no?
What if I took all my vacation days before I left? I saved them because I knew I was getting laid off and figured I could use the money, but now they are telling me that its washed out by what they gave me when I first started nearly five years ago.
Any advice would help. This is in Pennsylvania as well, if you need that information.

1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance1 decade agoWrist Pain, Have to crack wrist resulting in loud pop. Bilaterally.?
Every few hours I have to push down on the back of my hand in towards my inside forearm to crack it in order to relieve pain. This action results in a very loud pop, which you can physically feel. This happens in both wrists.
Some things the docs said I have is carpal tunnel in both wrists, tendonitis, arthritis, ehler danlos syndrome. Would any of these things be causing it? Many of my joints have pain which is pretty weird considering I'm 25.
Any information would help. Even just had to do it again, so thats how often I do it. The pain keeps getting worse until I pop my wrists and it goes away for a few, before coming back requiring me to do it again.
3 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoTiny clear bubbles on my arms? Second time they have came back. Look like drops of water.?
Last week I went to the doctor for this since I stayed home from work because I had no idea what it was. By the time I got to the doctor it had already gone away. Now.. its back.
It looks like rain drops on my arms. Tiny little clear bubbles that feel hard if you run your fingers over them. I have no idea what they are and dont want to waste more money going to the doctor if I dont have to.
They currently don't bother me, but they just started up again. Hopefully they dont get much worse then they are now, but I'm guessing by morning they will be on quite a good portion of both arms.
They are about the size of a small pin head, very tiny, but there is a good amount of them. Definitely not always there, because I couldnt find even one when I was at the doctors.
Any ideas? Thanks for the help in advance.
2 AnswersSkin Conditions1 decade agoBest way to go about telling your doctor your current medication is not adequate?
So I've been on a medication called Opana (Oxymorphone) for over a year. I have never asked for a increase in strength although I probably needed one a few months ago. Right now I'm taking 10mg x2 per day, but it just isnt cutting it any more and I've called out of work two days in a row now because of my pain.
I dont want my doctor to cut me off, but I also cant deal with the pain. I also have a pilonidal cyst on my back, which hurts even worse!
Even if I went to the ER they wouldn't be able to prescribe anything stronger then what i'm taking now, so im sort of stuck. Any ideas?
7 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWhy do so many Yahoo Answers have such unintelligent, ignorant, and false statements?
This doesn't account for everyone, because some of you do leave great answers. But for the rest of you...
Every time I read a question I see some of the most idiotic responses and almost challenges my view of the human race. How are so many people so uneducated with a tool such as the internet at your disposal? Its like people just regurgitate whatever they hear without any research or facts to back it up. And most of the time, its wrong.
I really enjoy Yahoo Answers, but either a lot of the answers are from people who are 9 years old, or the world has been getting progressively dumber to a point that its impossible to not notice.
8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs Diacetylmorphine (Heroin) really THAT bad?
Opiates have been used for thousands of years for both recreational and medicinal purpose. Heroin is actually still used as a pain killer in Europe, and is 100% interchangeable with morphine other then dosage.
Assuming you were prescribed Heroin by a doctor, why would it be worse then any other opiate?
As a pain patient, I take Oxymorphone daily, which is said to have greater euphoria then any other opiate, including heroin. It is 2x stronger then Oxycodone (Oxycontin) orally, 4x stronger intranasally, and even more stronger then that when IV'ed. I still get dope-sick from my medicine if I wait too long in between doses, and if I was to come off the medication I would have severe withdrawal. In the 1970s, Oxymorphone had to be removed from the market because addicts were specifically trying to get their hands on it even over heroin. In 2006, under the brand name Opana, it was brought back into the pharmaceutical market. Even though I take it as prescribed, I get the best feeling in the world when I take it, a side effect I really dont mind at all.
How is this any different then if I was prescribed Diacetylmorphine in a pill form (such as in Europe)?
I am not including needles, disease, prostitution, and so forth. Strictly speaking in terms of a medication being prescribed by a doctor and its effects when taken correctly.
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWould could this pain on both sides of the middle of my back be? Hurts when laying down.?
So, last night me and a buddy of mine were hanging out and he made me laugh while drinking chocolate milk. In a valiant attempt to thwart fluid from escaping my nose.. I accidentally breathed it in. After about ten or so minutes of coughing up chocolate milk and a near death experience, I was finally feeling a bit better.
Now I wake up today, cant lay on my back, cant lay on my side, pretty much cant sleep comfortably. There is a throbbing pain in both sides of my back that actually forced me out of bed this morning.
Possibly just some pulled muscles from coughing so hard? Or could I be dying a slow death to chocolate milk inhalation?
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management1 decade agoWhy are people so misinformed when it comes to drugs?
The ignorance in the world in terms of drugs is astounding. The amount of misinformation that is used to scare children into not using drugs is the wrong way to go about educating them. I was just wondering what other people thought of about such lies?
For example, many people are horribly against heroin but support morphine? They are 99.9% exactly the same. Heroin is actually still used in the UK as a pain killer.
People say pot is a gateway drug? Shouldn't cigarettes actually be the gateway drug since most people start with them before they smoke pot?
How people automatically think if you do drugs you are a failure at life, and fail to recognize the facts that MANY prominent people in society use drugs. Sigmund Freud and even president Grover Cleveland enjoyed cocaine.
What about when you are taking the pain killers your doctor prescribed you, they are opiates, same family as heroin.
How about people who are addicted to food? I've seen that destroy peoples lives worse then most drugs could ever do in a life time. All because of people who dont know the term moderation cant control themselves the rest of the world has to deal with it.
And finally how the war on drugs is a complete sham, and is actually doing more harm then good. People arrested for simple possesion of marijuana doing more jail time then rapists? Violent criminals being let out of jail because of overcrowding so we can throw away the person who was minding his own business smoking a joint?
--
Why cant they just tell people the truth, and let them make their own informed decision? I'm sick of the government telling me what I can and cant do, when they have little to no idea about what they are creating laws against. All they know is that if they ban this, they get more money.. ban that, even more money.
And we all know how safe alcohol is...
5 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoHow can I find out if my co-worker is retarded?
I work with a morbidly obese male with a very lazy eye who I think is mildy retarded. He forgets his password for the computer systems at least once a week, and was even denied a position closer to his house due to the fact that he is unable to learn what is required to be effective. We basically put him in a corner and don't let him touch anything because whenever he works there is a critical mistake being made. He has been here for over twenty years, yet is unable to do the work without assistance. Last week our cleaner found feces on the floor which is most likely attributed to his horrible gas and an accidental outage of some brown material. He is abnormally lazy as well. We at the work place would rather do double the work, then to have him work with us due to his seemingly lacking mental capacity.
I am wondering if there is any covert or non-direct way to find out if he is indeed retarded?
10 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoEhler-Danlos Syndrome : Pain Management Questions?
I am a 24 year old male, healthy, and in pain. I had surgery two months ago for bi-lateral carpal tunnel, left wrist was worked on and still have it in my right. The surgery did not help and made the pain worse actually. My doctor has since diagnosed me with Ehler-Danlos Syndrome.
I have been on medication for over three years for pain, starting with darvocet, through vicodin 5, 10, percocet 5, and now percocet 10.
I am constantly being woken up at night due to pain, and have to take my medication, then wait for it to work before I can fall back asleep. I haven't had a good nights sleep in longer then I can remember.
I am trying to think of options I may have to manage my pain, and was seeing if anyone might have any better ideas that I could discuss with my doctor tomarro.
Thanks in advance.
1 AnswerPain & Pain Management1 decade agoOxycodone treatment options that dont cost an arm and a leg?
So my doctor has had me on oxycodone 10mg 4-6 times a day for the last two years. The medicine no longer works like it used to so I am constantly in pain anyway, and have to take a pill at 3 AM every night just to fall back asleep, otherwise withdrawal keeps me awake and miserable.
I am pretty fed up with having to take pills every day to be normal now, even if I am not in pain due to the dependence this medication creates with your body. My doctor said I would have to go to rehab to get off the medication she put me on, so I called them and they want 400$ up front! That is with insurance! I barely make enough money as it is to pay for my prescriptions and doctor vists, so there is no way in hell I can afford that.
I would rather deal with the pain and not have to take pills, but i'm already knee deep in crap so its a bit late for that. Sadly, I dont really have a choice other then stay dependent and feed the doctors and pharmacies the last of my pay check.
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management1 decade agoAny legal grounds concerning my brothers death?..?
I posted this earlier but I guess it came out the wrong way, so here it is more refined and accurate.
1. My brother and three friends were driving around, two men attempted to car jack them - shot the driver, beat my brother in the face with a pistol.
2. The person in the back seat had a gun in the car that was registered to him, it was never fired because the suspects were fleeing.
3. The cops arrest my brother and his friend as the shooter, the gun was never even fired once.
4. They lock him up in a holding cell, he went blind in one eye and was still denied medical treatment. His friend is witness to this fact.
5. He went to the doctor after being bailed out, was Rx'ed medications and given a referral for X-Rays. She said he had multiple face and head fractures, as well as a concussion.
6. He died in his sleep that night, coroner ruled it from the medication. They never even checked his head injury.
He was denied treatment and would be alive if not...
