what rights does a father have to see a child if the mother keeps the child from him?

They are getting divorced and the mother won’t let the father spend time with the child. The mother says that the 8 year old boy doesn’t want to be with his dad because of what the mother has told him about the father, that he steals from him, doesn’t want him anymore, has a new family, and other complete lies. What can he do to spend time with his son?

Parental Alienation. Its a legal term used when one parent creates bad feeling between a child and the other parent by slandering said parent. It is also very against the law. Perfectly good parents have lost all rights to their child because they have tried to alienate the other parent by saying things like daddy doesn't love us anymore because he left us has a new family etc. Find a w ay to prove what the mother is doing taping convos on phone/ with child etc. talk to a lawyer. This is a case which was taken to the supreme court find more like it and you have your precedent. http://www.fact.on.ca/Info/pas/leitn98.htm

There are many others this is huge right now and very damaging to the child google it do your work let the lawyer do theirs Google PARENTAL ALIENATION COURT CASES

Read the court orders carefully. Sometimes some ex wives are just like that and feel so jilted, the kids are the escape and the punishment.

All this does is hurt the kids. He needs to keep in touch regardless of the nasty words she spews about him. When his son is older he can explain in more detail what really happened. If he fails to keep in touch then he will appear wrong no matter what he says or does. During the divorce he needs to have his custody rights read and heard. The court will determine his rights and have them in writing.

You HAVE TO GO TO COURT and get a COURT settlement... that way the wife can NOT deny his visitation.

Make sure the father lets the child know what is being said is NOT true!

cant do much about seeing the child through divorce process until the courts/legal mediation sets up visitation arrangements.
