Counter-clockwise to remove, clockwise to tighten. Good luck, I have run into this several times before. Depending on which way your engine turns, you can put a heavy 6-point socket and breaker bar on the bolt and put the breaker bar against the car's frame and hit the starter. The starter will have enough torque to break it loose. Just make sure all your bolt and engine turning directions are correct.

The pulley is not threaded. There should be a bolt through the pulley that holds it on. This bolt should be right threaded. The bolt is most likely tightened to 180 ft-lbs of torque or more with a thread lock compound. After removing the bolt you will need a pulley remover to get the pulley off. If this is confusing, you might be better off leaving this to a professional because they will have the larger/power tools to do the job.

I think it might be left threaded. You can call a shop and find out for sure. I would also use some penetrating oil to help with any seizing you most likely have.
