Has anyone seen Coraline or read the book it is based on?

What is the premise?

I love the Nightmare Before Christmas but I was very disappointed in The Corpse Bride. What are my chances for loving Coraline?

Update:

poiuson! Since you were a baby!! I think I was in my early 30s when Nightmare came out..

Sorry that just makes me chuckle and feel a little old! Ohhhh Sigh.

I've read the book and I'm 17, but it's still my favourite book ever. It's really fun but really freaking.

It's about a girl, Coraline, who moves to a new house. Her parents ignore her, but they're not mean. She goes into a room (which she wasn't allowed in, it was supposed to be like a fancy dining room) and finds a door leading to an alternate universe, where she is guided by a cat to find her "other mother" and "other father." They are nice and helpful and basically great, but it all starts to go bad when they try to keep her trapped in this other dimension.

It's really good and I'm excited to see the movie, but I suggest reading the book, purely because I know you won't be disappointed.

I have loved NBC since I was a baby, but Corpse Bride was horrible.

A few of my friends have seen Coraline and said it was a really good Tim Burton movie.

I can only speak from the view of a bookseller. It is a very popular book with young people and Niel Gaiman has a very good reputation - read the book.
