Should I be mad about Vday?

So I'm really not the type of girl to be mad about not doing anything for Vday. but my bf didnt even say happy Vday...let alone get me anything. We just hung out and drank with 2 of his friends he had'nt seen in a long time. Which is all fine and good by me cuz i know he's really missed them and I had a good time!

But should I be upset he didnt do anything for me? well...basically I am a..Little...little upset about it but I dont wanna say anything about it. cuz i dont wanna seem like.. i just WANT stuff.

Ugh now I'm getting myself confused. I dunno

Maybe you do want stuff? You probably want to feel valued.

Some people don't take "Valentine's Day" seriously. My wife recognizes it as a "holiday." I think it's a cruel day. Especially for kids, in school, were the popular kids are all sending roses to each other. On one side of the room you have a girl with 20 roses and on the other side you have one with none. In between you have a few who have boyfriends and a few who were so desperate that they sent themselves roses.

But even when you take the popularity contest out of it, I still find it a cruel day. Plenty of people are alone, sad, hurt, wanting romance in their lives. Living through a normal holiday is bad enough, but a "holiday" that is dedicated to showing you how "in-love" everyone else is? You're telling me those people weren't happy enough, just being together? We already have anniversaries to celebrate relationships.

So maybe he's just not crazy about Valentine's Day?

I would rather spend some time on Valentine's day talking about my relationship, where it started, where it is, where we want it to go, how we fell, how we met, and similar those things.

But Valentine's day isn't my problem...

My wife wants STUFF too. Last time I bought her something nice she made me feel like she could care less about it. Her response when I bring that up? "Oh, so I didn't do what you wanted me to do?" Okay. My response when she brings up NOT getting a gift this time? Same thing.

Clearly we have issues. Forget the stuff and cherish the love. I've been married for several years and the marriage becomes more about stuff and less about love every day. Even though we have money we argue about it constantly.

Cherish the love instead. Focusing on material things will just make your relationship more like my marriage.

If you think your man doesn't love you, then be concerned about it. If you think he doesn't pay enough attention to you, be concerned about it. If you think he is taking you for granted and you need to feel some appreciation, be concerned about it. If he never does anything special for you and you want him to, be concerned about it.

How you deal with those emotions is a whole different story. Typically, if there is any hope that a relationship will survive, either partner can start doing the right things and the other partner will catch on. The problem is that most of us don't want to actually do it since there are so many things that we're missing ourselves.

Girl don't worry about it! Yeah it kind of sucks that he decided to see his old friends on a national "love" holiday that could have been just about you two, but the night is already over. Maybe talk to him about it, he might not really be into that lovey dovey stuff. you know what i mean? Idk, i am so sorry! I hope your valentine's day is better next year!
