Is it ok to give a 6 wk old puppy goats milk?

goat's milk is fine to give a puppy. just don't give it regular cow's milk, goat's milk is easier to digest for a puppy's sensitive stomach.

(6 weeks is the minimum age to take a pup from its mother, as long as it's weined and not dependent on the mother anymore...yes 8 to 10 weeks is better but 6 weeks is fine in some cases...we got the dog we have now when it was 6 weeks old and it's perfectly fine)

Don't worry there is no federal crime here as one has suggested. Consumer Affairs of each state in the USA govern pet sales regarding age, and even health (some have "lemon laws"). Almost all of the states say 6 weeks as an acceptable age. It is the Breeder and associations that say 8 - 10 weeks. I tend to agree with the latter but every pet and situation can be different. As for your question, if your dog is totally weaned, and healthy, he'll be fine. The dog will bond with you a lot more and can/may become more of a companion to you. Get your dog around people and other dogs as soon as you can. Also, enroll him in a puppy class once you are allowed; more for the social skills than the basic training. It is true that 'some' dogs do not get the social skills they need when they leave their mom early. It is also true that it is 'a sign' of potentially a poor breeder to allow the pet to leave that early. But I don't get into all that stereotyping! Take your dog to a vet, have the vet exam him. If he's health, happy and you take reall good care of him don't worry.

The Best thing would be to try and get puppy on a good puppy food.

If it has teeth it can eat. you can mix goats milk in with the food or a little in the water just to get the smell so Puppy will eat and drink better.

If you can the puppy should be with mom until s/he is 8/10 weeks. they are eating very will at this age. and have less bite /play problems as they get a little older.

the puppy should still be with its mother and litter siblings, even if it doesn't need the milk, 6 wks is too young. if your pup isn't eating take it to the vet.

my sister has a goat farm with over 100 of them and with all the baby kittens and pups along with the kids she feeds them all the fresh milk and they do well. u might want to dilute it with cooled boiled water since ur pup might get diaraherra and feed her puppy chow mixed with warm water and leave a few of them around so she can chew them. as she gets older just use the pupy chow and lots of water and make sure she is dewormed and has her check up and shots. good luck
