Sure.  Merlin of King Arthur fame was actually an ascended ancient who created the grail (the sangraal or sangreal) as part of a weapon to destroy the Ori.  Daniel Jackson finished building the weapon, attached the grail to the top, turned it on, and sent it to the Ori galaxy...

At least that's what Stargate SG:1 tells me -- and it's at least as valid as the bible stories! :)
