What in your opinion would make guinness, the beer, more attractive to young people?

making it taste less like liquidised *** ash would always help.

Failing that, a major re-branding. Advertising campaigns aimed at young people showing youngsters getting drunk on it. Often demonstrating how it makes you popular/funny/sexy.(The usual advertising bull.)

Make it sold in really attractive bottles. Shove some colour in the packaging. Make the pumps better looking etc.

Increase the alcohol volume in it so young people think they can get off their head quicker. They'll drink anything if it gets you drunk quick, even if it tastes like licking fly paper.

But why you'd want to re-brand it i dunno. Its pretty successful with its current market as far as i know.

Some young people do drink it, I have been since I was 12. (there is a law in the UK that parents can give alcohol to their children in the home) I know that probably sounds a little young, but I didn't drink 20 bottles of it and then collapse or anything, I just drank a few on the weekends. Anyway, I don't think you could market it to girls, but for young lads, you could say that it is "manlier" than cider or lager. Or, they could don a promotional thing, like if you collect the labels from 20 bottles, you could win an Ipod or a playstation. A promo they could run is that you could win a holiday to Ireland to see the Guinness factory or something like that. Other than that, I don't know.

Ad campaigns do wonders for beer sales and if they did ads for Guiness like they do for Red Bull it would probably work.

Guiness used to be marketed as a beer that gave you strength. The posters are good.

The big prob now is the price. You can get two cheap pints for the price of a Guiness. Also most places do not use the proper gas for Guiness which should be nitro instead of CO2.

guinness is a type of beer that is more suitable for a more mature pallet. the taste is viewed as too bitter, strong, etc by many of the younger crowd (esp since their main goal is typically "to get wasted"), but guiness is appreciated by an older crowd. another example of how the pallet matures is with oysters. most kids think they are disgusting, but many adults view them as a delicacy.

maybe if guinness made a different brew, how sam adams has different brews, and could specifically aim it to a younger crowd.

If you change the taste, it wouldn't be guinness. I personally believe it is best on tap. don't care for the bottles or cans for sure. I think the brewer is targetting thr right crowd, youngsters don't havbe time to enjoy ghe taste. got to get drunk, quickly. lol

The taste I think, hence why people drink it with blackcurrant cordial...sweetens the taste.

It tastes better in Ireland apparently, because the water it's made with is softer. But what it's based on originates from London.

There's no point. If they don't like it, they don't drink it.

But funnily enough, some people who aren't young don't like it, either.

Can't think why, as I love it.
