Do cons support Obama for raising salaries and health care for the military?

I'm English and know nothing about this planned raise. Politically I class myself right of centre, to most libs that would make me a con.

The policy that you mentioned sounds commendable, Anybody who is prepared to die for their country, regardless of which party governs it deserves a higher than average standard of living. If they are wounded serving that country [even under a government they may have voted against] then that country should do everything in it's power to help that person.

With the money that has recently being spent on bailing out the finance sector, they could have probably found a cure for death by now! Therefore spending a lousy million dollars to keep our defence personnel in the best possible health is a million dollars that should be spent almost without question.

Obama is ALWAYS talking about what he WANTS to do.

Let's see what he does. I think the military should be well compensated. Especially since O's not bringing them home anytime soon. What I don't know is if they already are well compensated. They DID choose the job.

Any other President, I wouldn't think twice. But I don't know how much I like the idea of Obama having any influence on the military.

The military gets an annual raise every year. I don't agree with a lot of the things Obama says, but I agree with this idea.
