No, i know for sure she did it wrong. Just a movie mistake.

That wasn't an error. John Patrick Shanely said they put that in their on purpose to show that nuns, priests and in this case a nun and principle, he treats other people to be scared of her. He wanted to remind the audience that she was still a normal person, and not this monster.
