Does anyone know that there is a world of difference between socialism and communism?

From the answers I got to my "socialism" question, it seems that many do not. The only place communism ever worked was in convents and monasteries. Socialism works well in many countries with democratically elected officials. Socialized medicine works well in many other countries.

Where does Socialism work well? China? The Soviet Union? Europe? Where? Europe was collapsing under the weight of Socialist policies before this economic down turn. Socialized medicine does not "work well" when you consider how long people are forced to wait for surgery, the quality of the doctors and the equipment.

Remove the profit incentive from Medicine and the best and brightest no longer become doctors. Remove competition and medial supply companies no longer improve.

A Saudi Prince just needed surgery. He could afford to go anywhere in the world for the procedure. He came to New York. When people with money in Canada need surgical procedures they come to America.

Socialism is nothing more than rationing what already exists. It does nothing to increase productivity, encourage innovation, promote excellence or quality.

In case you have not noticed, until the Socialist minded Liberals began to interfere with the free market in America, everything was handled far better and more efficiently than it is now.

Socialism is a stepping stone towards Communism. Neither one has been truly integrated into a society as yet although there have been attempts.

Problem is that we live in a global economy so it's an all or nothing proposal for it to succeed.

Socialism is the reorganization of the economy and society that would have the potential to do away with Capital and profiteers. Many people see this as a bad thing. Many people who have just experienced the brutal rape and pillage of "Free Enterprise" Capitalism and are now wondering how they will keep their homes and food on the tables they may not have next year.

Also, the convents and monasteries practice communal ism. Kinda like the hippies of yesteryear

There is no more effective delusion than self delusion.

Go sell that BS somewhere else because we aren't buying it.

In Marxist theory socialism is a stepping stone between capitalism and communism and is the same thing in a lighter version.

Socialized medicine does not work in any country-the countries that have it are hemoraging money from their hospitals and its only a matter of time before they all collapse

No longer willing to argue the capitalism/socialism thing because it is inevitable now? Hmmm

Communism is what occurs when the bottom falls out...we have run out of other people's money, people no longer want to work to have the majority of it confiscated to be redistributed, and the masses become restless. It is in response to this chaos that it occurs. Therefore, I would prefer we never go down the first road to begin with. Real hard to come back.

Communism is socialism through violence instead of election. Socialism never works "well" anywhere - the producers and achievers leave, and those remaining suffer together.

  • What about the rights guaranteed under the constitution, are we going to just throw the constitution away, the constitution which is the basis of the country being great since 1776

Communism is a type of government that implements socialist tenents

socialize medicine works in other countries only maybe because capitalism was the only way that sprouted technological advances at the cyclic rate...

Without Capitalism...you would not have the advances in technology as you do today.

No, there really isn't "a world" of difference between the two; it's a small matter of degrees. And socialism, including socialized medicine, has proven disastrous in every country in which it has been tried.

Sure. Anyone with an education knows that. The cons don't, of course.
