You have the right attitude and that's the way to go, but if you do it for love then money is only a bonus. The best way to not get down about it if you do find it hard to get paid work is to get another job that allows you the time and flexibility to make it. I do that, I have a day job and I do photography on the side, I love it and often want to do jobs for free because it means more to have the experience of something you love, it's a hard road and you've got to take criticism but you just keep ploughing on. I think you will find that some of these people you are talking about when you are older will not be around to see so don't you worry about them. If you say you can't do it or believe other people then you won't because it means you won't try. Stick with your dreams because when you get to your 40s and life isn't so full of opportunities then those people will still be afraid and boring but you will be able to say "I lived my life doing the things I wanted to do".

Remember people who have no talents and aren't gifted with music and the arts are lacking, they can't learn that like we can learn maths and english. People will envy your talent.

GO FOR IT!

they're not your friends if they think you can't do it. Follow your own heart and do what it tells you to do. Many can start with a small idea or dream and turn it into something that can change or inspire others. Go for it. Stay strong and overcome what everyone tells you. In the end people will tell you how wrong they were to doubt you.

ohh nd no one says the road will be easy but if you determined you can do anything but make sure you do somethng alongside your singing so if you dont make it tht big in music you have a backup...
