Weight problems/Health problems.?

I'm a 20 year old female and I weigh 68 kgs (150 lbs) and I'm 5"2.

Most of my weight is stored in my tummy area and my waist circumference is 99cm (39 inches). So you can probably imagine that my tummy sticks out a lot. :(

I went to my doctor recently who told me that technically I was "overweight" but he measured my waist he told me that I should actually fall into the "obese" category because my waist measurement was well and truly above what it should be.

He suspects that I have type 2 diabetes because I have a lot of the symptoms. He also strongly advised me to see a dietitian.

I'm very nervous and scared. I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone been in a similar situation or offer some advice?

Update:

Thanks everyone. Yeah I have to get a proper blood test done for diabetes in 5 days, there is a very high chance I have it already.

I don't know much about diabetes and its symptoms but considering your height and weight your best bet right now would be to start a training regimen and follow a strict diet plan.

Go and check out for gyms in your vicinity and most gyms have their own dietitian who can help you put together a good diet plan. You should seriously think about exercising before you get into any more health related problems.

If you need help putting together an exercise regimen you can send me an email and I'll be glad to help you out.

Checking for diabetes is really important. Some diabetes can be controlled by diet. To lose weight and look better, diet and exercise will be the key. High protein, low fat diets work the best and can be done for the rest of your life. Try to minimize dairy products (cheese, ice cream, milk, etc) and bread. One piece of white bread can push your blood sugar really high in a very short period of time.

Try to get 20 minutes of elevated heart rate exercise everyday. 3-4 days a week you should also lift weights with supervision at a gym. You may not see a lot of weight loss, but you will be changing your body composition and your clothes will fit better and you will look better. Keep in mind that muscle weighs more than fat, so your clothes may fit looser because you will be firming up.

You weigh a lot more than you should and the fact that your tummy is very large is a dangerous sign. Get the diabetes test done, but don't get your hopes up because being as overweight as you are and having diabetes pretty much goes hand in hand. But I agree with Darkcoder you need to start taking care of yourself because you're going to develop more health problems if you don't.

Every morning drink Psylium Fiber and lots of water before eating breakfast. It absorbs cholesterol and excess sugar from the body. Make sure you drink plenty of water during the day, but not too much.

Eat healthy. Have brown rice (soak it for an hour before cooking) and vegetables- it's heavy on the tummy but it makes you full. Eat just a little by dinner. or eat 6 small meals in a day.

    Exercise and have self control.

Pray To God to help you out.

actually, what DJ said earlier is fine.. to get your finger pricked that is... but that's just to look at your Random Blood Sugar... however, if your doctor suspects diabetes mellitus type 2, he should have ordered a Fasting Blood Sugar instead.. because that is a better diagnostic for DM type 2... but then again, DIET and EXERCISE are the keys to a healthy you... ;)

in the event that they are going to substitute the rest room interior here couple of days, there should not be a project. there's a seize in the piping under the rest room that holds water and forestalls odors and gases from coming lower back up. in case you're quite worried, discover an previous towel and stuff it down into the hollow (making specific you bypass away a tail to snatch to tug it out whilst the hot rest room comes) and that could desire to guard any better issues. My husband and that i redid the tile in our bathing room and had to tug the rest room out and it sat there for approximately 3 days uncovered. We suffered no unwell outcomes. Sorry, i comprehend it somewhat isn't what you had to hearken to.

Have a blood test or you can get a kit from the chemist where your finger is pricked and the blood analysed on some paper that shows your blood sugar level.

Self diagnosis is usually wrong. Just go for the required tests and then we'll talk.
