Is Jayson Werth being played out of a job?

The organization as you can see already is breaking away from Jason Werth and i am most certain Jason knows that as well. If Jason Werth was a contributer like a Brad Hawpe or a michael Cuddyer, then he would most likely stay but he is just not worth keeping in the Phillies roster who just won the world series. The phillies need to start grabbing younger and more potentially good players like what they have in John Mayberry. Honestly they will prbably trade him either next week or the deadline.

I follow the Phillies constantly, and looking at what Werth did last year at the end of the season I don't expect him to even share time with Jenkins. Jenkins is average and sometimes can hit, but Werth can constantly hit for power and has good speed. Mayberry is having a good spring, but if you think about it he isn't always facing the best pitchers in the game, because Spring Training is where teams try to look for young talent mostly. Don't look for Mayberry to play much except to give Ibanez some rest every now and then, because I mean he is like 41.

Mayberry will be a bench rider. Frankly I think Jenkins and Werth will share time in RF again. If Werth continues to be hurt, then Mayberry will play more, but Werth proved himself to be a legitimate player last year, and for Philadelphia to give up on him now would be foolish. Mayberry will be a great guy to have to PH and give anyone in the OF a day off. Look for him though, with injuries, you never know.

Mayberry won't take the job away from Werth. If Werth stays healthy, he has the job for a few years. Not than many players that can give you more than 20 HR's and 20 SB's in a little more than 400 AB's.

C'mon, you think they are going to bench a guy who they just signed to a two year $10 million dollar contract six weeks ago in favor of an unproven minor leaguer on a team fresh from a World Series win?
