Did you know that you can be labelled a child pornographer for doing this?

Sexting. Or sending nude pics of yourself or others that are underage over the phone or internet. Or on myspace. Did you know you can be prosecuted as a child pornographer. Saw it on Today show on NBC this morning. A guy got kicked out of college, and is labelled a sex offender until age 43. Has to register and can't find a job because of it. Another teen sent pics on his phone of his ex to get back at her, now is facing charges as child pornographer. Just wanted to know how many of you out there are doing these things and are not aware of the fact that it is against the law, and you could be labelled as a sex offender. NOt only this, but it is just stupid. Do not ever give nude pics of yourself to anyone, they will get out to someone you don't want to see them. How many of you would want to be a "sex offender" or not be able to get a job because of something stupid you did like posting yourselves nude or half nude, or someone else posting you? USE YOUR COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!!!!

Update:

It is not the adults sending nude pics to minors. It is minors sending nudes of themselves or of their girlfriends or ex girlfriends to others. It is young girls and others posting their minor under age bodies on myspace. Who said anything about an adult sending a nude to a minor? And not only that, if an adult (18-25) is dating a minor, which is illegal in itself, and they are sending pics back and forth, then why is ok to date, but not to send pics to each other? For all you out their willing to date an adult as a minor, why is it wrong for him to send nudes to the minor? It is wrong for ANYONE to send nudes to anyone else. And wrong to post nudes of yourselves. They are being seen by not only perverts but potential mates, bosses and the law. My point being, do not have nudes circulating out there anyway. And Yes I did hear about the story about the young girl who hung herself. Its a sad world where people feel it is alright to treat others this way. Bullying is not right.

Unfortunately, we are a sick society, and not all of us use common sense. Your advice to be cautious is good advice.

It's pretty obvious that sending nude pics of kids is illegal.

I was surprised a few years ago when I learned that you can be prosecuted for sending nude pics of yourself as a minor, but what the hey.

Don't forget the girl who wound up killing herself because her ex sent her nude picture to anyone and everyone he could and it made her life a living hell at school. She couldn't take it anymore so she hung herself in her bedroom closet.

It's been all over the news for a few weeks now. Hopefully it will put this practice to an end.

Why would ANYONE find it news that an adult shouldn't send naked pictures of themselves, or sexual text message, to a minor?

    What is your point????

It is pathetic how we make such a big deal out of nudity in this country. Go to Germany or France, or Italy, or almost anywhere, and people are topless or nude on beaches and in aprks all the time, and no one makes a big deal out of it.

this is why no matter the age we should never post nudes of ourselves or anyone else for you never know how old the other people in pics are

That's something everyone should know, but most t(w)eens forget about.

The real point is, you shouldn't have nudes of yourself on the phone to begin with.
