Will YOU be turning your lights off at 8:30 pm on March 28th, 2009?

Update:

There's a movement in the wind circulating the idea that it would be a way to "illumunate" the regular Joe as to what our world would be like if there was no electricity, power, heat... Yes - P.C.

Update 2:

Sorry - "illuminate."

Update 3:

Bob - why don't you ask? I did expand on it, but I guess you missed that. Is there anything else you'd like to know? I'll answer if I can...

    Heck no!

I suppose it might be considered a good way to condition oneself for the inevitable result of the bad energy policy being pursued by Obama and the environmentalists - the blackouts and brownouts and loss of power that will occur as demand exceeds output.

And instead of shutting down just the lights, shut down your entire electrical usage -- pull the main. Experience the true Luddite environmentalist dream.

No, I save electricity by using efficient bulbs and appliances.

Does anyone have any IDEA as to just what would happen to the Power Grid in the USA/Canada if everyone turned out the lights in unison at 8:30 and then later turned them on in Unison? Be prepared for a long blackout. Well no need to prepare because it won't happen. Most people do not believe in this stuff or Al Gore or Carbon Credits or Man made Global Warming.

Sorry I will pass. With the lights out I would probably fall and break my other leg or my neck!

Yep. I think it will be very cool to be a part of something so big.

Just a way to draw attention to small changes that everyone can do.

(EDIT to call me bwanda...I don't agree with the energy policies and I am not into the radical environmental agenda, but you are walking through life with your eyes closed if you don't want to admit that some things can change. There is a wider world out there than just opposing everything that someone else stands for.)

I will because I know a lot of people that wont so I am not worried about power surges.

    I use energy efficient products

and doing this will not harm me.

Oh, you mean go along with the whole "save the earth from carbon emmisions by turning out your electricity?"

Nope and I hope no one else is dumb enough to fall for the scam.

i could. with a bit of luck i would be taking an prolonged nap on the hours of darkness. i think of this could be a exciting journey which you have the choice to do. It shows we attempt to make a transformation. purely for one hour, no longer an afternoon, no longer a month. purely one hour.

Nope, in fact I think i'll turn on my heater, every light in the house, and plug in all of my electronics at the same time.
