For those who are ardently pro-life?

I won't say I'm pro-life, as I think there are situations where abortion is justifiable. But here is a real-life scenario that may have been discussed here already (haven't been here in a while). And I was wondering what those who are opposed to abortion in any case think.

A nine-year old girl in Brazil was abused for a few years by her stepfather. She was raped, and at the age of nine became pregnant with twins. The doctors said if she carried the pregnancy to term, she would probably die.

So, even though they were Catholic, the mother decided to go through with an abortion to save her daughters life.

This is an extreme case, but it is real. The Catholic Church in Brazil was outraged by this and said they went against the "law of God." They excommunicated her mother, the doctors, and everyone involved in the abortion.

Now, do you think the Catholic Church overreacted? Do you think the mother and daughter here are "murderers?" Do you think the Catholic Church should've kept their disagreement less forceful?

Basically, is it MORE justifiable, in your opinion, to have an abortion in an incest rape case where the life of the would-be mother is at stake, when that would be mother is nine?

We are ALL sinners in need of a savior. No one is perfect. Jesus died for our sins and only HE is perfect. I am pro-life. I don't know why God does what he does but I do know that HE is God. HE is in control. HE is not mean. HE is everlasting love. Lost people cannot understand Gods love because it takes being saved by the blood of Jesus Christ to even begin to have your eyes opened up. I cannot say if what they did was right or wrong. It's not my place to Judge. All I can do it point them towards Almighty God, who can do anything and works many miracles. I know he sure saved my life from a world of drug addiction and insanity! I don't believe the child or the Mother is a murderer. I believe they were in a bad situation and maybe reacted in a way that was disobedient to God. I feel like when people are raped and become a victim and also become pregnant, that the life of the baby will be the blessing that heals them. We can pray for these people (if they are real) and just let God handle it! Gods love is everlasting and deeper than any human can conceive!

You're missing the point. Everyone is pro-life. Some people are also pro-choice and some are anti-choice. Personally, I would tell the church officials to kiss my a$$ and until they can do something to keep a 9-year-old safe from sexual predators (did he get excommunicated?) and until they have had to make that choice for a child of their hearts, they should sit down and shut up.

I am extremely pro life, but think that what the catholic church did here is horrific. In this case, the 9 year old girl would have surely died along with the babies. Sooo sooo sad.

Sorry, I actual have never time to learn the comprehensive spiel. regardless of if surely some (be conscious 'some') women given the authorized perfect to make the alternative will certainly decide for to to have an abortion and hence reason the demise of a foetus, if the being pregnant or the assumption of having to supply up slightly one is unwelcome to them. on the different hand the 'expert-lifers' stress women who've been raped to hold the ensuing toddler. the two situations are unwelcome and maximum useful your inner maximum ethics can come to a selection your own place.
