How long should I leave a 6amp battery charger on a empty car battery.?

    Just hook it up to your battery and for get about it, then some time the next day when you think about it go and unhook it, it should be charged up by then,when you first unhook the battery let it set for a few mins. to cool off.

    The charger would regualte the charge going into the battery and will reduce the charging amperage as it charges. When the meter settles down to about 2 amps the batter is almost fully charges.

    I'm hoping when you say empty you mean no charge, not no water, if not charged most battery chargers have a self shutoff

  • long enough to have that battery produce 12.6 volts unassisted. 12-24 hours usually does the trick on mine, and it is a 1000 cca capacity
