Never give your child any type of regular milk until over 1 year of age, they need all of the vitamins and nutrients to build up their immuniy systems, so I would not give a 7 month old anything else than formula or breast milk without first speaking with my pediatrician, especially before making any decisions other than what is recommended by doctors. What is your reason for wanting to put the child on 2% milk, if you don't mind me asking?

I assume you meant ONE ounce? That is fine. If said baby is on milk based formula, or breast milk form a mother who drinks milk, then she is already getting milk, so there should be no problem. Just do not replace regular formula or breast feedings with milk until 12 months, and when you do switch over to milk at 12 months, make sure it is whole (4%) milk.

I wouldn't replace the formula or breast milk with all cows milk at that age but giving some once in awhile would be ok. Babies of that age are not eating a wide enough variety of foods to get good nutrition, hence the reason for supplementing with formula or breast milk.

It is not good for the baby, they should have breast/formula until they are at lease one, then they should have whole milk,Cows milk doesn't give a baby the nutrition they need.

nope, breast milk or formula until 1, at 1 whole milk, 2% doesn't come until 2

Bad idea they still get most of their nutrition from formula that is why you wait till a year. Also milk is hard to digest for their stomachs that is why you wait till a year. Also kids need fat for brain development till age of two. They recomedn that when they get off of forumula they go on hole milk till two then they can go to two percent.

It is not reccomended for children under 12 months. There is no rush. Just wait until your pediatrician says its okay.
