Non-menstral bleeding during sex....?

I am 28 (far from a virgin). I have two kids, 4 and 7. My period isn't due for a week and last night I bled during sex. This hasn't happened before. I am freaked out by it. It wasn't a lot but enough to be a major turn off. It was with my husband of 8 years.

Has this happened to anyone else? if so why?

Post-coital bleeding can occur for a number of reasons, and is nothing to take lightly. Here's a look at the top 10 causes of vaginal bleeding after sex:

    1. Cervical dysplasia is precancerous changes of the epithelial cells that line the cervix.

    2. Chlamydia: A bacterial infection that is usually transmitted through sexual activity or contact with semen, vaginal fluid, or blood.

    3. Gonorrhea: A usually sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacteria.

    4. Vaginitis or Cervicitis: Inflammation or swelling and infection of the vagina or cervix.

    5. Cervical polyps:

    6. Trichomoniasis: A usually sexually transmitted disease caused by protozoan. Although rare, transmission is also possible in tap water, hot tubs, urine, on toilet seats, and in swimming pools. May cause vaginitis.

    7. Vaginal Yeast Infection: An overgrowth of the normal fungi that inhabits the vaginal area. Common symptoms include itching, burning, and an odorless, white, cheese-like discharge.

    8. Inflammation of the endometrium (the innermost layer of the uterus).

    9. Uterine polyps:

    10. Fibroid tumors: Uterine fibroid tumors are usually benign tumors. They are solid masses made of fibrous tissue. Fibroid tumors are rarely malignant.

Diagnosing vaginal bleeding after sex is usually a matter of exclusion. Anytime you experience post-coital bleeding or vaginal bleeding after sex see your physician.

Did you have any pain? Ovarian cysts are very common and many women never even know they have them. Sometimes they can naturally rupture during heavy exercise or sex and this can cause some bleeding. I've had this happen a lot though I am often aware of a slight cramping kind of pain when it happens.

Very vigorous sex can also cause this, however if you haven't had it happen before and you are with the same partner (as you mentioned) that is less likely.

There are a lot of other things that can cause irregular uterine bleeding (DUB - dysfunctional uterine bleeding) including hormonal imbalance, diet changes, stress etc.

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it persists. If it does, or if you feel pain I would definitely talk to your family doc or Ob-Gyn.

    Good luck!

I have a tendency to believe matters like... if he might simply transfer to left only a hair I might blow...oh God that is well...if I do that he's gonna... if I am considering wherein are my keys, then I have to discover a brand new playmate. I need to say I have under no circumstances fantasized approximately one other guy while I am with a person. I do nevertheless while I am gambling on my own... I am a unmarried girl incidentally. Have to believe the position gambling feedback from the opposite females... If you're now not utterly there, do not be there in any respect.

My husband has made me bleed a bit sometimes from just simply going to town really hard with me.

Sometimes you can have a little bit of spotting during sex in the week or so before your period. If your period was 3 weeks away, I'd lean more towards just being rough.

  • This has happened to me and at the time my period started to become irregular, this went one for about 5 months. I was too scared to see the doctor but after that 5 months passed my period went to a regular cycle and stopped bleeding at weird times including during intercourse. The next time it happened was 7 months later and I bled once during intercourse and didn't get my period after and this was 2 months ago and now i'm pregnant. I will be going to the doctor soon, but maybe you are just becoming irregular or changing your cycle.

Fibroids, also called uterine leiomyomas, are extremely common non-cancerous muscular tumors of the uterus. About 80 percent of women develop this problem by the age of 50. Learn here https://tr.im/wTZGQ

The exact cause of uterine fibroids is still not known. Factors like genetics, abnormalities in the blood vessel or vascular system, hormones and other growth factors play an important role in the development of fibroids.

Don't get too stressed about it. Rough sex can cause a little bleeding occasionally, but check with your Dr. to make sure things are ok down there.
