Will bank tell me who used my card fraudulently?

My credit card was used fraudulently, and I have a good idea when and where. My bank investigated and returned my money, and this question may be moot tomorrow when I call, but I just want to know now. If there is a criminal case that arises, as it was a large sum of money, will they give me the information so I can go to the court proceedings? Or is this confidential and they won't give it to me?

Update:

I am letting the bank do its job. It did do its job since I was supposed to fill out a form first to get my money back, but I figure they must have already caught the person since they already refunded the money before the form even came. It's been a week. I just want to go to his court proceeding. My bf works at a bank and says they won't tell me any info on it, and I say they should so I can go to his court hearing if he has one. I also want to know where it was done so I can avoid that place in the future.

You are very lucky to have gotten your money back at all.

The Bank probably managed to 'catch the cash' or you'd

have had a harder time of it.

If there is a prosecution, it will be 'public record' and there's no reason

not to tell you about it.

Just let the Bank do it's job. If you're still worried what might happen in the future, You can put it on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They will notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. You can also request your free credit reports from annualcreditreport.com or call them toll free @ 1-877-322-8228 for all 3 free reports. If there is something on the reports you're not aware of, dispute it immediately.

Most banks won't. It would cost them money to have staff tracking the court details for you. Them giving you back the money does not mean they know anything; they have given you fraud protection. They may have just charged it back to the merchant who didn't get proper ID.

They also don't want to give out information about the other person because it might expose them to lawsuits about privacy. Remember, it may not have been a fraud; it may have been an innocent processing error that got you charged.
