Does anyone know how to remove the odor of cat urine out of handbags and shoes?
Unfortunately late last year, shortly after adopting a young male kitten I had a serious accident and was hospitalized and in recovery for over a month. The poor little guy had hardly a chance to get adapted to his new home and new mommy when this happened. I trusted the WRONG PERSON to care for him during this time and though he was fed and watered, when I came home after a month my closet door was open and he had sprayed or peed on almost EVERYTHING in it! I thought he was being kept at this person's home as he was so young and vulnerable and shouldn't have been alone for such a long period of time! But that's another rant in and of itself!!!!!!!!!
I've thrown a lot of items away, but I had a collection of nice handbags and shoes that I boxed up and put in storage until I could deal with them. They still smell just as bad! I cannot afford to replace all these items, and many are very valuable designer names like Fendi and Louis Vuitton that I was lucky enough to find at bargain prices at yard sales, etc. and would never be able to afford to replace. To make matters worse, it will be still be several more months before I am cleared to return to work, so my funds are very limited. Does anyone know of any way to get that odor out of leather and similar materials? I would appreciate any advice!
P.S. Sorry this post was so long!! And BTW, he has since been neutered and has not sprayed or used anything other than his litter box even once since his mommy has been back home! Thanks so much!

Try one of the commercial (available at pet stores) liquid enzyme cat-odor removers. Read the label first to check for things you can and can't use it on, but I think your handbags should be ok. It costs about $8.00 and worth every penny.
