I am nervous about applying for my first job. Do you think they will hire?
I am going to be 16, and today i got 5 applications. I filled them all out and am going to get a sixth one when i turn the other five in. I felt discouraged because i have no job experience, and i am nervous that no one will hire me. I know that if given an interview, i can definitely have a great chance at a job. Not to sound conceited, but i have a great personality for a job. They are all in the mall. How long will it take after i turn in he application before someone will call for an interview?
I did put on the applications (the ones that asked) that i will not start working until June 15th. I put that i am available at any time from monday through friday.

Hi Leah,
You are very young and should not worry to much about getting a job. Most places would rather have someone young with no pre-conceived ideas of how to work a job. I am sure that you will hear from one of the 5 you sent out and will get a job. Just be patient as the unemployment situation in the country is pretty bad now. It may take awhile, but you will get a job! Good luck to you!

employers are only interest in previous experience when your 18 or older they dont expect everyone under to have had a job..
try doing some volenteer work to put down it might get you a leg in the door but also make sure you have a nice tidy resume in case you are called but dependent upon the application it could be a couple of days to a year before you are contacted.
but besides that i got my first job at 13 and and i'm only 14 now but i currently have 3 jobs most of which i hate..
hope it helps >_<

I would say two to three weeks, then you should get an answer. In an interview, dress nice with business attire, be neat and clean, sit up straight, and just relax. And, don't look down and mumble your words. Look at them and answer clearly.
