What do you think about Gingrich's comments about Chavez?

“I think it sends a terrible signal to all of Latin America, and a terrible signal about how the new administration regards dictators,” Gingrich said on Fox. Gingrich said this about Obama's meeting with Chavez. It's ok for the US to install ruthless dictators all over Latin America, but when one is elected it is simply wrong? Is it just me or is hypocrisy dripping out of his mouth as he considers a bid for 2012?

I agree. The US has put in countless dicators throughout Latin America, or at least helped to overthrow democratic governments. Finally when one of them says some things that Uncle Sam doesn't like the Wacko Right rushes in to say that they're dictators and we can't talk to them. Give me a break.

    Gingrich, you're not a newt, you're a slimy toad.

Not Pleased Gingrich hates Obama and other Democrats He would cancel any meeting with Chavez If he was President thank God he is not.

Hypocrisy. It's easy to judge a man (as he is with the President) for what he does and criticize him when you are not in his place. If the President would have snubbed Chavez Gingrich would have criticized him for that! Of course Gingrich does have the right to say what he wants...even if it is stupid.

Yea Chavez was elected by the people the way Castro was elected by the people. They were the only ones running!!! Any other candidate was killed off.

Nothing worthwhile ever comes out of his mouth. Apparently he considers the lack of dialogue between leaders of countries to be better than attempting to negotiate our differences.

AS always, Newt is right on. He'll make a great president in 2012.
