Anyone ever have a cat that...?
Does anyone have a cat story to tell about how your pet may have saved you from some type of emergency?
My cat once pawed and meowed at me until I woke up because she knew something was wrong...and there was. I was having a severe insulin reaction (I'm a diabetic). I might not have woken up if she hadn't tried so hard. I was amazed that she knew...I mean, I've heard of dogs doing it but cats??
My cat truly is a lifesaver.
First off, I'm a woman...not a "dude". No offense taken.
Second, I adopted my cat from the ASPCA 12 years ago. She was an abandonment case, when her former owners moved away and left her. She was 5 when I got her and is now 17. She's an amazing animal and her sensitivity to what's going on around her is just awesome.
It's great to see that I'm not the only one with an amazing animal.
I want you all to know that I was inspired by your stories and I'm astounded to see how many miracle pets are out there. It makes it very difficult to choose a best answer because they were all good ones. Thank you.

That's truly an awesome story. Cat's know, I swear!
I was suicidal with a plan quite a few years back and I had 2 cats at the time, and the one who always connected so deeply with me, just stared at me all the time with her loving eyes when I was severely depressed- saved my life because I just could not abandoned her. Changed my whole mindset. Now I live in gratitude and I was there for her at the ending of her life, loving her with all that I have and know I'll see her again.

My cat saved me from a fire.
When I was about 4 years old, I was taking an afternoon nap and the low sun caught a mirror just the right way that it started a smoldery fire. My cat, who was sleeping with me at the time, ran frantically up and downstairs meowing, prancing over me and trying to get my parent's attention. My cat kept meowing loudly and pawing my face until she was able to rouse me. I was able to crawl out of the smoky room holding onto my cat's tail. My parents found us at the top of the stairs just as my room burst into flames. Is it any wonder I have had a fond affection for cats ever since?

OMG, she truly is an amzing animal.I think ur lucky. My cat just meows me when I go unconscius( i have sleep disorders and sleep with her) she stays next to my head, and paws my face when ni dont waake up after a long time,or when im supposed to be slepping and im not.

Yes actually I have when I was like two or three just playing in my front yard and this snake was coming up by me and my parents didn't see it until my cat came and attacked it.

i havent seen a cat or even dog rescue anyone... but i know of ppl.. sweet story
