What Happens when you miss your Birth control?

I missed a pill in the first week, so i doubled but, I missed another, so I doubled up again.. Then I missed 2, and doubled up twice. I've never missed my Birth Control before in over a year, but we were so busy moving it slipped my mind. Will my birth control still work, or does it increase the likelihood to get pregnant?

(pre posts)- Guys yes, i know it was stupid And i threw away the packet details :(. If i do get pregnant, my and my b/f will be happy to have the baby, we were considering starting to work on a baby next year. We're just not as financially stable as we would like to be we're both in our late 20's though :)

Don't wait too long. I'm 43 with an almost 11 year old. There's a definite generation gap, and I'm still not financially ready! (They'll drain you dry if you let them, LOL! They come out almost designer these days!)

Yes, you might get pregnant. If you think you might be, get to the doctor STAT, because you don't want the pills so accidentally cause a miscarriage. So if you don't want to get pregnant, couple it with a spermicide if you can tolerate it. (It burns me, but I'm very sensitive.)

If you miss more then 1 pill at a time you have a good chance of becoming pregnant. The packet tells you not to double up more then 1 pill, because it will not make a difference. If you are not waiting to have a baby right now then you need to use protection until you get off your period next time.

If you miss one of your birth control pills, you can become pregnant. It happened to a friend of mine. She doubled up the pill the next day, but it didn't matter. The pamphlet with the pills says that you need to use other birth control methods (condom, etc.) if you miss a pill.

I wouldn't trust the pill for this month, or until you have your next period. I would use a back up birth control method until you either have a period or have 30 consecutive days of not missing or doubling up on your pills.

You have my empathy - moving sucks! It's nice opening up all the boxes and rearranging your new place, but in the same breath it's exhausting. = \

well it depends what birth control? and what week did you miss twice? If you missed all of those in the first week you could be in trouble. Use another form of birth control for a month. if you missed the two in the third week you should be ok. That is considering you have Ortho tri cyclen of something similar.

Birth control isn't completely dependable on it's own even if you take the directed dosage all the time. For best results, use the pill with a condom as well. Even that's not bullet-proof, but it's the best way to go!

Hope things go well for you!

Hi, that all depends if you and your B/F had any activities during that period that would lead to having a baby or not. my gueses even if you had such activities the chances are very slim. if such setuations occure again, the best thing is to use a condom, if not get a morning after tablet from the nearest pharmacy, it is the only contraceptive which work after having sex, effective for the first 72 hours after sex. So, go and consult your pharmacist and she/he will supply it to you.

If she misses for sometime, take it as quickly as she realizes it particularly is lacking. For the subsequent week use some decrease back-up beginning administration, which incorporate a condom or ... be careful. there is not any ought to get the morning after pill. If she forgets for extra beneficial than a million day, there are instructions in the kit her beginning administration pills are available in. sturdy success.

  • You are suppose to take them as directed of course if u don't it increase your risk of pregnancy!
