My cat threw up on the carpet. A yellow stain was left. What cleans it up?

Haha, I'm sorry, I had to laugh at "It's Me"s answer.
I've got this lovely maroon colored carpeting in my bedroom, as it hasn't been changed for 23 years when my parents first moved in. Apparently, maroon was groovy back then.
But when one of my cats barfed on it, it turned an even lovlier shade of brown.
But I found the absolute BEST way to get it out:
Trust me on this, it's like MAGIC, haha.
Supplies:
- Resolve brand carpet spray (optional)
- Tide (or any other kind of) Laundry soap
- Dawn dish soap
- a few old rags
- a bucket or bowl of COLD water.
info:
- Wait for a day when you can open the windows to ventilate the room.
- If using the Resolve: Do not let the cats near the area while you are cleaning, and for the next 24 hours after you clean it.
1) First, you do a quick spray of resolve to bring the stain to the surface (or so the product tells me). Just follow the instructions on the Resolve. (You can skip this part if you really want to, I've just found that it helps a lot).
2) Then, rinse it away with a rag dunked in water.
3) While the carpet is still a bit damp, pour a dime-sized amount of the laundry soap onto the barf stain.
4) Squirt a quarter-sized amount of dish soap on the spot.
5) Grab a cold, damp rag, and rub, rub, rub!
6) Rinse the area with a wet cold rag.
7) Rub the spot again with a fresh, dry rag.
8) Repeat steps 6 & 7 until the area is mostly dry.
9) Put a large bath towel over the area, and (If using Resolve) make sure the cats are away.
10) Wait a bit, then vacuum over it (This is optional too, but I'm just a neat freak.)
Also, the proportions I mentioned are assuming that the barf spot is big. You can use less of the supplies if it's a smaller stain.
Best of luck!

I use 'prosolve triple action' spray. You can get it at walmart. I've had many cat vomit incidents on my light grey carpet, and it's worked every time. I spray it on until it is soaked, let it sit for about ten minutes, and then I use my Bissell Green Machine and extract it. If you don't have one you can scrub gently and blot with a thick rag. Just use some water in between treatments of rubbing and blotting. I would suggest investing in a green machine if this happens more often, it's worth it! Hope this helps.

Your best bet will be Oxyclean and an enzyme based cleaner. Oxyclean will remove the stain without bleaching the area and the enzyme cleaner will remove the odor.
