I was a pastor myself, and I can tell you that pastors struggle with the same thoughts as you do. They have just figured out ways to explain them away (usually believing that it is an attack by Satan). The truth is, your brain is a thinking, problem-solving, machine, and it is noticing that something just isn't right with the Bible and the things you hear at church.

Pastors first and foremost concern is keeping you believing. Not that they do this maliciously; they have a genuine concern for you. The problem is, they really don't know all that much more about God than you do, they just know how to build cases the same way a lawyer does, using the Bible to do so.

i suggest going to a more live church, like a pentacostal or charasmatic. there is a such thing as being in a dead lifeless church.

some pastors are very happy and some are not, really. feeling confused when reading the bible is a normal response. use your innate wisdom when reading and only take into yourself what rings true to your core, your soul. don't take it all so literally. get to the heart and essence of the message. let your higher mind, higher self, be the guide, rather than your ego mind. how you feel is ok. go with the higher flow. i went on a journey, and let my inner being, be my guide, in my relationship with God. not anything written on paper, but what is written upon the heart. what is written on paper can be a guide, that will guide you to discover God for yourself, in your own unique way. blessings to you.

all those feelings are normal. sometimes people feel those things when reading the Bible, or don't like their pastor, or fall asleep in church, etc. if you're having doubts about the Bible, then try reading the standard commentaries on them.

as for whether pastors are really happy, it depends on the person. I think it has more to do with their personality and relationship with God, than with their job.

You may feel misled, confused, stupid, bored. or whatever other feelings may come into play because you haven't accepted the free gift of salvation that is provided through Jesus Christ. Read Romans 10:9, 10, and 13. Those are good verses and explain salvation. In order to get excited about Christianity and the Bible you must be saved. Until then you don't have the holy spirit dwelling within you. Also until you trust Christ you are spiritually dead. The Bible says that your soul is "quickened" (made alive) when you trust Christ. That may be the answer to your problems.

Dustin absolutely nailed this question .. if you are born again you will feel passionate for christ obviously misunderstood by a lot of people ...without a life changing personal experience with christ you like a ton of people will just not get it at all..it's not brainwashing or some twisted doctrine to control the masses garbage .. it's a real spiritual battle of good and evil and you and i are right in the middle of it . seek god thru christ with your whole heart ... you will find everything you ever wanted in jesus .. the reason for you very existance

If you feel angry and confused when you read the Bible, and don't like the churches, Christianity is not the religion for you. Best to leave it behind and explore your spiritual side in other ways.

For the very reason that Christianity is not your faith. Obviously you don't believe it, or it's messed up. Find another faith, or, like me, if you find a patterin in all Religions, don't follow one at all.
