Dislocated Shoulder..how long before I can work?
I dislocated my shoulder yesterday and the e.r. doc reduced it. I have ortho appt. tomorrow for check up. I also have Hills Sach Lesion. I have never injured myself before and am wondering how long before I will likely be able to return to work? I work in a fast paced environment which is primarily on computer.
I know the ortho will tell me tomorrow but I've seen all sorts of conflicting info online so was wondering if anyone has personal experience? I am in my mid 30's and injured my arm while biking. I am taking my meds as prescribed and am in a sling 95% of the day.
Thanks!

If you work on a computer, you should be able to go back to work by Monday, earlier if you feel up to it. Your muscle will ache for a couple days then will start to subside. Unless the pain is excruciating I would only take pain meds when necessary. The meds may make you feel better which could also make you do more. The pain meds are more likely to keep you out of work than the injury.
Source(s): Numerous falls of my bike, requiring stitches, casts, splints and slings. With the exception of leg, back and brain surgery (not from biking), I don't take pain meds.. But biking is too fun to stop.
