No I have no problem saluting our country's flag. Actually I called the hospital about this yesterday and got a recorded apology saying this was just a disagreement between two employees, they apologized and claimed it was not their beliefs. Of course they will protect their butts.

For one Arlington woman, the answer was "no" after she hung an American flag in her office just before the Memorial Day weekend.
Debbie McLucas is one of four hospital supervisors at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield. Last week, she hung a three-by-five foot American flag in the office she shares with the other supervisors.
When McLucas came to work Friday, her boss told her another supervisor had found her flag offensive. "I was just totally speechless. I was like, 'You're kidding me,'" McLucas said.
McLucas' husband and sons are former military men. Her daughter is currently serving in Iraq as a combat medic.
Stifling a cry, McLucas said, "I just wonder if all those young men and women over there are really doing this for nothing."
McLucas said the supervisor who complained has been in the United States for 14 years and is formerly from Africa. McLucas said the supervisor took down Debbie's flag herself.
"The flag and the pole had been placed on the floor," McLucas said. But McLucas also said hospital higher ups had told her some patients' families and visitors had also complained.
"I was told it wouldn't matter if it was only one person," she said. "It would have to come down."
McLucas said hospital bosses told her as far as patriotism was concerned, the flag flying outside the hospital building would have to suffice.
Kindred Hospital Corporate Headquarters are located in Kentucky. They have yet to make a final decision on the matter. They have not returned our phone calls for comment.
The Kindred Hospital Corporation was chosen as Fortune's most admired for 2009. McLucas hopes they'll back her patriotism.
"I find it very frightening because if I can't display my flag, what other freedoms will I lose before all is said and done," McLucas asked.

No, I do not. I'm a citizen and was born here. If I had a problem with it then I would leave. Our country is not perfect but I would not have a problem with someone displaying the American flag. I cannot believe someone took down the flag especially around Memorial Day. And how could they find the flag offensive if they are an immigrant and living here? What did they come here for if they find it so offensive?

She was able to put the American flag back up. The hospital was embarrassed by all the publicity and tried to say they asked her to remove it because of its size. Yeah right. This is America and should be the only flag honored. Don't like it, don't let the door knob hit you where the good Lord split ya.

I'd sue the sh*t out of the hospital for discrimination. Do a little role reversal. Let's see how the mostly offended sh*theads take a little civil justice. I'd take his african rag he calls a flag and wipe my *** with it, then burn it in the parking lot, as this is America and that is my freedom of expression and speech.
EDIT: I read the article. I would have not taken it down. I would have hung another one. Then when the hospital came to me I would say "And on what grounds can you suspend of fire me? If you do I will have this in every newspaper and news channel within a 500 mile radius. I will also make sure Bill O'Reilly knows."

Of course not! It only makes sense to be proud of your country's history and especially in the U.S. the opportunities that are available for everyone. However it seems a large portion of non-natives that take advantage of the opportunities, the system, and of citizens, have a problem with letting go of the country they left...
Personally, it's instances like this that only inspire me to put flags up, and be more patriotic! It's time to stop giving in to the nonsense and political correctness.

I wish I was the one he told to remove the flag. I would wrap it around his neck, then hang it from the flag pole. People who come here for our money and freedom, yet have no respect for it, make me sick!
Source(s): I wish i could give you 1000 stars, for pointing out how bad the immigration problem is in the US! - 1 decade ago
That sux, and is insulting to the country which provides that person a living, but if the office is indeed shared, then the person has a right to complain, as it is not just that woman's office. I would tell visitors to go stick it and go get medical care in whatever country they prefer.

She should take that flag and wave it high. I don’t give a **** if it offends him; he should get out of America then.

If you have a problem with it you will never achieve the American Dream.
