My mouse keeps double clicking on things...I've tried everything!?

I have a Windows XP. My mouse is about 4-5 years old and I HATE that it always double clicks on things. When I click exit on one screen it exits out two or three or even all of them. It's so annoying. i've tried adjusting my settings but maybe I'm doing it wrong. Btw I have one of the laser ones with the red light on bottom...It typically comes with most Dells now.

ANY suggestions please!?

Thanks a mil.

:D
