Parents, what are your views on your children smoking?
When I say "children" I mean 18+ legal adults, who just happen to be living with you (and they're going to college but still living with you). And whether this is relavant or not, they have two jobs and pay all of their expenses (school, car, cell etc.)
Yes, Im fully aware that it is legal for them to smoke, but what Im asking is do you find it disrespectful as a parent? do you not care? and for the sake of argument lets say its no more than two ciggaretes a week, not even a whole pack a month.

I'd be upset because that's not how I ever got down. I always hated the smell of cigarette smoke and can't stand to be around it. I'd be upset because I feel like knowing the facts about cigarettes and choosing to smoke anyway shows a bit of stupidity on there part. I'm not talking about people from the 50s and all that or young kids who got peer pressured and then hooked. I'm talking about rational young adults who choose to start smoking. If my daughter does she just better not do it near me and she should expect to hear about it each and every time I smell cigarette smoke on her.

I wouldn't find it disrespectful to me, but yeah I would care. I've smoked for 23 years (started when I was 13), and I really hope that my son never starts.
Of course, it will be his decision, but I'd be disappointed if he becomes a smoker, as I know how addictive it is.
If someone only smokes 2 fags a week, then they're not addicted (yet), so why bother, why not just quit?

regrettably it quite is now considered simply by fact the norm for underage little ones to drink and smoke, some who try this with out their father and mom being attentive to it, and a great style of the time may well be placed all the way down to the youngster wanting to slot in with others, simply by fact the determine of a daughter that smokes i will say that i easily do not believe it yet simply by fact she's 20 she legal to smoke and drink

My kids aren't old enough yet but I think I would be pissed! My son is 13 and totally against smoking and drinking and drugs, I am sure this will change as he grows, but I really don't think his outlook on somethings are going to change all that much. I will not allow my children to ever smoke around me, inside or outside of my house, if they are smoking I don't want to know about it, ever! I feel like I have raised them to know that smoking is harmful and that it isn't something they like about anyone or respect in people.

I am 22, I smoked until I found out I was pregnant, but I never smoked in front of my parents. I am not quite sure why but, I knew they didn't like that I smoked and I thought it would be disrespectful to do it in front of them. Now my 19 year old sister smokes, and she smokes right in front of them, obviously she doesn't respect them as much as I do.

I'm against it, of course!
Oh sorry, when you said children, I thought you meant children. How foolish of me.
What an adult puts into their body is up to them. If they were living in my house, I would insist they not smoke inside.

I would be completely against it, both for their own health and mine as I have chronic respiratory issues worsened by smoke.

I don't smoke, but there is evedince that smoking for men is beneficial because all the women like bad boys.
