Do liberals really want to get rid of the Constitution?

The only reason we are in this mess is because we didn't stick to the doctrine some of the most intelligent people wrote. There was once a law that said you could only own banks in one state. Think about that( if you don't get how it ties in with today's world you should leave this page now you are not intelligent enough to answer this question). Some liberals say it is old now and is just a sheet of paper. Well I took logic for two semesters and that is a fallacious argument my friend. The constitution has got us this far don't destroy it and turn America into a pure democracy. Everyone knows (well maybe liberals don't cus they fall asleep in history class) that pure democracy does not work just like communism does not work. Communism can only work for as long as it takes the lazy person to figure out he doesn't have to work.(if you don't know the difference between socialism and communism exit of this page and kill yourself). Why can't you democrats look at history and see that gun restriction doesn't work and government heath care doesn't work.

Liberal ruined countries are horrible. Just look at Britain, it takes 7 months to get a cat scan, a man got arrested for, because a robber got cut on his barbwire fence. a man got arrested for using a water gun to defend himself.

Um idiot I don't what class you failed twice in a row, but that is not the constitution. The Federalist wanted a national bank and the democratic-republicans did not.

LOL. We don't have to, we can look at modern countries and see that it does. BTW how did they restore order in the lawless wild west? Do you know Mr. Historian, they banned the carrying of fire arms!

Actually it takes less time than here on average and you don't need a referell like you do here. Life expectancy and infant mortality is better there than here, and you don't have to worry about your insurance not covering it.

LOL. That's nothing in florida a woman sued and won when she placed her dog in a microwave. FL btw was a conservative state at that point.

No. The problem is that partisan politics is leading to illogical rhetoric that blames one side for disregarding the Constitution while ignoring their own side's blatant disregard for the Constitution.

If you want to logically look at the history of US business, including banks, evolving from a status of state chartered entities to omnipotent corporate entities...

The precedent of corporate "personhood" was set in 1886, when the Supreme Court granted a railroad corporation equal protection under the Fourteenth Amendment. For the first forty years after the Fourteenth Amendment passed, there were 307 lawsuits brought, nineteen by African American men, the rest by corporations.

More recently, the relaxation of Usury laws in the late 70's have contributed to the disproportional power that banks wield:

Regarding government healthcare "not working"... Incorrect, we have never had a single payer health care system. The medical profession protested against such measures as part of the FDR's New Deal and health care was "tabled" in order to get other reforms passed such as workplace safety and child labor laws. Employer-provided health care began initially as a means to bypass wage freezes (initiated to forestall hyperinflation) and attract workers during WWII.

No, they don't. But that is not saying that the Constitution is a static document. It was drafted the way it was to be a living document, and there is a process involved in changing it. It can't be changed on a whim by the President. And by the way, what does the rest of your question have to do with the first question you asked?

Yes,and some of the Neo-Cons do too.Bush called it "an old dusty piece of paper",and then called himself a conservative while tripling the size of government.I think both the Neo-Conservatives and Neo-Liberals need some new ones ripped on them.

    1. They Don't Like It Because they Won't Take The Time To Read It (Kind Of Like The Stimulus package)

2.And Those That Attempt to Read it Can't Comprehend It

    The New Constitution Reads:

Give Us Your Money - You Don't Need It

Considering it was Republican BUSH that FATHERED the PATRIOT ACT which trashed the Constitution and Bill Of Rights . YOU HAVE NO LEGITIMATE RIGHT TO ASK THIS QUESTION IF YOU VOTED FOR BUSH .

Let me get this straight, you are trying to blame deregulation of corporations and disassembling FDR policies on Liberals?!

  • 1 decade ago

So... you are against things like votes for women and black people? You know, things that were NOT originally in the constitution?

Or maybe those wise people who wrote the constitution allowed for methods of changing it because times and circumstances change.

None that I'm aware of. And many gave you clear enough answers that I don't need to add anything more.

I believe it was George W. Bush who said, "The Constitution is just a god damn piece of paper." And then he went about ignoring it, shredding it, and violating it. -RKO-
