Religion and Destiny?

Are they attached? Or complete different ends of the scale?

Religion is mainly based on love for a god(s) or belief, whereas destiny would be predetermined?

Can I hear your views please?

Update:

I understand there is no simple answer i just want to formulate one for myself and want to hear other peoples ideas

Well..in my religion, God predetermines everything. So i guess it's attached. -_-

it's different for other religions so my answer doesn't apply to all circumstances.

And you probably won't get an answer that will because people have different religions, so they'll have different answers.

"Destiny is not determined by forces beyond our control." President Obama said this today at the D-Day memorial.

That's the rub. If God is all powerful and just, and omnipresent then why do bad things happen. Also if He knows all, how does freewill exist?
