Why do Japanese Cruiser Owners Criticize People who Own Non Japanese Cruisers?
I have owned both an American and Japanese cruiser, they both have their own pro's and con's, I have also ridden a couple of European cruisers as well, all bike are great in their own way.
I thought Harley riders were brand loyal, but Jap cruiser riders are ridiculous, if you say anything against them you get a mouthful.
We ( including Bart S ) need to stick together so the legislators don't force us off the road, after all we are all different and ride different bikes because we like it. Maybe just agree to disagree.
Sadly, I no longer have a cruiser, sold due to a back injury sustained at work, I now have a Maxi Scooter ( 3 Wheeler Piaggio MP3, bag me , I don't care ) don't knock it until you try it, they're great fun. I with a different crowd now, no more bickering, just fun.

I ride a Jap cruiser (Honda Magna) and am proud of it. However I've also owned a Harley (superglide) which I was also proud of. The main gripe I've heard other Jap cruiser riders say is that Harley's are overpriced. I also believe that to be true. Harley should be able to sell their bikes (since they're made in the USA) for a lesser price than they do. They don't have to deal with import tariffs and the cost of shipping, there's really no reason I can think of that they charge so much other than they can get away with it. If they got competitive with the foreign market they'd sell twice as many bikes and create alot more jobs for Americans.
I can afford to buy just about any bike I want. The one I'm riding suits my needs just fine. I don't own a garage queen, I put 18k on my bike last year.

Sorry Red, gotta side with the Harley idiots on this one. I think if someone is going to sacrifice all that performance and buy a cruiser, why not go all out and get the bike all other cruisers are styled after? If you cared about performance more than that corny antique look you wouldn't be riding a cruiser in the first place. So while I think the Japanese make better Harley's for 1/2 the price, it still isn't a Harley so what are you trying to do anyway? But wait, I do believe the Victory is the perfect solution. More street cred than a Harley and also has better performance.

If it wasn't so sad, it would almost be funny.
This group against that group due to differences in style, brand or location of manufacture... stupid, yet ongoing.
I pretty much don't bother with picking on any certain group anymore. Once in a while I will, just because I'm still an equal opportunity asshole.
I ride what I do for my own reasons, never for anyone else's.
$30,000? Must be inflation, I remember when the number was a lot lower.

I have owned Hondas, Kawasakis, and Yamahas. I don't have a problem with what others ride. I like cruisers and sport bikes. I tend to judge people on how they ride, not what they ride.
My problem is with the attitudes and beliefs that some HD riders have.
* Just because I ride does not mean I wish I had a HD or hope to own one someday. I ride to please myself, not others.
* Referring to my bikes as Jap crap and rice burners is offensive and not acceptable. If I really thought they were crap, I would not be riding them.
* Real bikers ride Harleys. I ride 10,000 + miles a year, in the cold, the heat and the rain, through the city and on rural highways. I am certainly more of a biker than the guy who owns a shiny new Harley he keeps parked in a garage and rides only on sunny weekend days over 70 degrees.
Most that I meet in real life seem to be good people. Every once in awhile, I will run into a jerk. The jerks can dish it out, but say anything bad about a Harley and it's war.

To me it's not what sits in your garage ,but the fact that you ride. Now for Bart S calling H.D. riders pretenders - now that IS the pot calling the kettle black!I Bart's dream ride is a carrot on a pogo stick.

I have never noticed anything from Jap cruisers only from the squid sport bike riders. Bart has had his knickers in a wad ever since his blow up girl friend left him so he stays up nights thinking up silly questions.

I agree with Scooter and I don't want to stick together If BartS is involved.

Bashing Harley's, was the only way Japanese bikes could get a foot hold in the American market. But back then bashing any American made product was, the way to go. It still is, the way to go. Knocking America, is the way to go. What better company to knock, than the one that seems to embody everything American.

I don't have a problem with Harley Davidson Motorcycles, I just have a problem of the people that ride and sell them!
They think they are better than everybody else just because they own a HD.
They can't ride motorcycles
They ONLY own a HD to have an image, to be someone they're not, (a pretend tough guy)
They don't have true passion to ride, they don't know the true meaning of own a motorcycle, they just own one to impress everybody
HD Riders DO cut down metric bike riders, us Japanese Bikers are not permitted to ride with them, to join the same riding clubs they have, to drink in the same bars, to date the same women.
