How can I control my daughter's eczema?

I do everything the doctor says such as use eumovate and she showers instead of taking a bath - she still has very itchy red sore bits on the backs of her legs - any tips appreciated.

The single best thing we did for our daugher was to get a water softener installed at home. It cost about £1400 but was worth every penny.

We still have to use creams to help keep it under control, especially in the summer, but its nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

My little boy had eczema on his cheeks. I was not sure what method to use but I didn't want to make my boy go through any surgery treatments at this young age. Some suggested a plastic surgeon since it was in a very visible location but our family doctor recommend this natural guide.

My son,11, and my daughter,9, both has had eczema since birth. It is hard to control. However, we use Eurcin. Don't know if it is spelled correctly. The one for recurring dry skin is better than the original. My son also takes Zyrtec which helps with the itching. We also use Vaseline at night. Good luck!!

Eczema may fade in adulthood, but people who have eczema tend to have lifelong problems with skin irritation and related problems.

Moisturizer reapplied locally every 4 hours (4 times a day is minimum). Steroids sparingly applied once at night. Try different molecule (elocom / cutivate). Discuss with your doctor about Protopic / Elidel cream. They are new non-steridal cream-prescription only drugs-known to induce longer remission

Then it just went ,, didn't do anything that I know of , but not a trace of it now ,, Whether was washing powders. or sort of soap I don't know or what was the trigger ,,

you need to find out what is causing the eczema.

a orange colourant sets mine off really bad, so i cant use fake tans...(i have to be pale and interesting!)

they used to put in in orange ice lollys and ke-ora orange juice so i used to get it quite a bit when i was little.

lucky after trying lots of things my mum firgured it out so i wasnt allowed any orange sweets lollys or juice!!

when you think you know what maybe causing it go to the doctors for an allergie test to confirm it.

You should put her on the Murad redness and sensitivity system. It does wonders for the skin and really helps with any skin problem. I use their soothing gel cleanser, recovery treatment gel, and correcting moisturiser to get rid of the itchiness and redness. Also I use their pure skin supplements which add extra defence against the itchiness and redness.

I get mine directly from their website at www.muraduk.com

Aquaeous cream is excellent for any form of itching. It can be purchased over the counter of chemists and is so cheap for a huge tub!
