Is there a new kind of Christianity about to arise and replace the pathetic thing we call "church" today?

Some say there is an "emergent church." It is one that cuts through the bull and offers an authentic spiritual experince.

Wouldn't that be great? The American church is so pathetic today. Most of the people are well meaning but they are not in tune with the Word of God. Lots of bull going on out there. I hope God shakes thing up. Maybe all the changes we are facing will cause a real revival.

What's needed to "replace the pathetic thing we call 'church' today" is not a "new church". What's needed is to be like the _First_ "church" - that's the ONLY "authentic spiritual experience" that is of God.

There are, of course, many "authentic spiritual experience[s]" that are NOT of God. These I do not recommend.

Since it's inception, "Christianity" does little else but get worse. New takes on "Christianity" are usually just further compromise with the Zeitgeist (Spirit of the Age/ god of this world/ Satan)... So, new is probably bad.

    Revelation 18

4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

5 "For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Nobody thinks this "her" applies to their own church/religious system.

But face the facts, according to God the majority are very much NOT "right with God"... and some become His people through EXITING this category.

Is this about Protestants coming out of Catholicism? The Protestants surely thought so, but from the perspective of the man through whom God WROTE these lines, they are the same. Both groups "reject the commandment of God, so that [they] may keep [their] tradition" (Mark 7:9).

Get back to the original Way. Leave "Christianity". Obey God. Keep His commandments and His sabbaths.

God's people "keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Rev 12:17). Notice that "having the testimony" is by itself not enough.

"Christ", His disciples, and their disciples after them all kept the Torah and the Sabbaths and Feasts. This is history and fact, fully verifiable.

    Where are God's disciples today?

Not in your average "church". They say, "it's enough to believe" but James speaks with a Higher Authority and says, "Even the demons believe" (James 2:19). If belief is all you've got, then you're only as "saved" as demons.

They say, "Faith alone, Grace alone", but Saving Faith is NOT ALONE; James says "faith without works is dead" (James 2:17). What works are produced by Saving Faith? Keep the commandments. Yes, even the Seventh-day Sabbath.

They say, "Lord, Lord" but Yeshua Messiah said, "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but [only] he who does the will of My Father in heaven."

You have to twist scripture pretty hard to claim, as some do, that "the law was done away". That is a lie. The Bible never says it. Rather, what's done away are animal sacrifices and Levites for priests, and for those who follow the Salvation Instructions*, the death penalty is also done away since their Sin Debt was executed along with Yeshua.

*Believe, Accept, Repent, get Baptized, receive the Holy Spirit through touch from a Holy One, and Persevere 'til the End

@Nina: If you had only more of a grasp of what the _First_ assembly of believers was like, you would have a better idea of what a pathetic counterfeit "Christian church" is.

**shrug** if moderate and liberal Christians would stand up and quit allowing their rabid Fundy Evangelical brethren to frame the meaning and identity of Christianity that alone would be an authentic spiritual experience that would benefit everyone ... not just Christians. the Fundy Evangelicals have turned Christianity into a distasteful bigot's joke.

Just try reading a small sample of Christian postings on here!!!

Intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted!! Eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more. Christians are the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting gays, pro choice and so much more - but far worse whilst they demand freedom of religion they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them!!!

This new christianity worships terrible human emotions and has no room for a loving god!!!

I left church, totally disappointed and angry.

    And soon, I left christianity.

Those who leave church will soon leave christianity because it all doesn't make sense.

There's nothing 'pathetic' about church today. "New" should only come about when God wishes
