How can I reduce morning sickness?

I've just found out I'm pregnant and am discovering the joys of morning sickness. Unfortunately the smell of my 11 week old puppy seems to be one of the main things that sets me off at the moment. The puppy is obviously staying but does anyone have any wonderful suggestions on anything that will help to reduce my sickness? I'm currently drinking ginger beer and nibbling ginger biscuits!

Update:

liam + ginger (brown nose) you have been reported. Grow up.

Update 2:

Thank you to all those with genuine, helpful answers!

The one thing that helps me is to CONSTANTLY eat. Not big meals, but just snacking cuz if hunger pains kick in, I get very sick.

However keep it bland and light.

    My suggestions?

*Toast (sometimes with butter or jelly)

    *Water

*Juice (watered down since it could be too acidic and can cause your stomach to hurt)

    *Saltines and ginger ale

*Tea (without the sugar or milk)

    *Yogurt

    *Chicken with minimum seasonings

    *Salads

Here are just a few suggestions I have that don't cause my stomach to hurt at all. Hope this helps.

Ginger beer is great as long as it has real ginger. Also eating small frequent meals. The idea is to not let the stomach get empty. My nausea and aversion to smells only happened when my belly was empty. Eating during the night helps too. I ate when I got up to pee. A banana or crackers with turkey. The blander the better. I ate turkey and crackers for almost two weeks daily. If it calmed my stomach...I simply ate it.

Ginger biscuits and ginger tea lol sausage rolls help me alot too. The smell of the fridge makes me sick aswell as bad breath. Dont do what i just did and drink fizzy juice with an empty stomach!! That just made me sick lol most of us just have to ride it out, Im looking forward to getting past this stage! XX

Go to a chemist and buy yourself some sea sickness bands. They are little bands that you wear on your wrist. They really helped me! No side effects and they work almost instantly.

  • I found chewing [mint] chewing gum really helped me! Good luck - it's an awful feeling x
