When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I flew while I was 3 months pregnant and I was just fine.

Do you have a high risk pregnancy? I didn't know that a mother-to be could not fly during the first 3 months? Well I guess if its what your doctor says then that's what it is, but its the first time i've heard that. Try calling the airlines to see if they will allow for special circumstances being that you received dr. orders to not fly. If it comes down to you having to lose some money then just accept it and move on. This should be a happy and exciting time for you and your husband. Besides, seeing your healthy baby later will more than make up for it.

Well, my dad's girlfriend found out she was 8 weeks pregnant not long before they were due to fly out to NYC from the UK for a wedding, which would have brought her to around 11 or 12 weeks at the time they were to travel. She checked with her doctor and it was fine for her to fly. In the third trimester it will be a different story.

I flew to Bangkok with my hubby for a really late honeymoon when I was barely 3months (it was the rebellion "Red VS Yellow" time at that..) and I got back safely! XD..

Consulted 2 doctors before I went.. One said not to go as threatened miscarriage is prone during first trimester.. Second one said to go and have fun! Just remember not to quarrel or do anything stressful like bungee jump or carnival rides.. He wrote me a letter since I chose to go, my hubby and I are happy (we don't know when we can ever go for next holiday) and my baby's still healthy!

All the best to ya! Do what u feel is the best.. XD

But DO consult your OB/GYN before going in case there "might" be certain complications..

Do you not have any travel insurance?

Maybe also check with your credit card company to see if they help cover anything. Maybe your home contents insurance may help as they often cover extras.

If you don't have insurance, try plead with the places you made your bookings as they will sometimes cancel without penalty if they feel sorry for you (or happy for you as they should be).

With the airlines, they are usually more difficult but definitely will refund taxes. Maybe you can convince them to change the dates instead as you should be able to take the trip in the safe period of your pregnancy.

You can fly while pregnant, except when you are close to birth. A friend of mine was 13 weeks and she flew from Australia to England and back and is still doing fine. Flying wont do anything to you when you are only early on.

why are you unable to fly? did you doctor tell you not to? usually women can fly during pregnancy up until about 28 to 32 weeks.

You can fly up until the end of your pregnancy. I think it is about 36 weeks that you have to stop flying. Congrats on the pregnancy

you can fly whilst pregnant up to 28 weeks without a doctors letter, up to 32 weeks with. I dont know who gave you your information but its wrong.

  • There is no problem in flying in the early stages of pregnancy - why would you think otherwise? Enjoy your holiday x
