Catholics: Do you think the Vatican has done as much as possible to stop abortion or are you disappointed?
The Catholic church has a lot A LOT of money. If they wanted to stop abortion bad enough, wouldn't the Vatican have put it's money where it's mouth is at any point since 1973?

<<Catholics: Do you think the Vatican has done as much as possible to stop abortion or are you disappointed?>>
The Catholic Church has always taught that there are no circumstances in which abortion can be considered the morally proper alternative.
That's the most the Church can do.
As far as the individual Catholic is concerned, MANY of them can do better at upholding and following said teaching.
<<The Catholic church has a lot A LOT of money.>>
Not really. The annual budget of the Vatican is no larger than the annual budget of the city of Chicago.
<<If they wanted to stop abortion bad enough, wouldn't the Vatican have put it's money where it's mouth is at any point since 1973?>>
The Vatican is smart enough to know that no problems - especially moral problems - are solved by simply throwing money at them.
As far as the Vatican's "mouth" is concerned, I've already told you that the Church has always taught that there are no circumstances in which abortion can be considered the morally proper alternative.

The Catholic Church actually does not have a lot of money. I mean - it has a lot, but it also needs a lot just to function. There are as many Catholics on the planet as there are Chinese citizens. It has little money to spare - and much of that already goes to worthy charities.
I am not disappointed. I frankly don't know what more the Church could do. It's not like they could pay off congress and the president to get the laws changed in the U.S., and if they did, that would just make so much of a ruckus it would cause more problems than it solved. I think the only thing the Church could really do better is to be more firm on excommunications in relation to abortion. There's pro-choice Catholic groups popping up all over the place and they need to know they can't be both at the same time.

It was 9 Supreme Court judges that legalized abortion 36 years ago, and it will probably take 9 Supreme Court judges to criminalize it today. The Catholic Church nor any other entity has the power to change that. If the Church did, abortion would have been outlawed way back then. All anyone can do, the Church included, is work to influence and educate the nations to overturn abortion.
God bless.

<<Do Catholics/the Vatican evaluate combating being pregnant as undesirable as having an abortion?>> There are no circumstances wherein using guy-made birth control or abortion could be seen the morally appropriate selection. <<Or could they supply concept to practise approximately/provision of birth control a suitable skill of reducing the abortion value?>> This "practise" could could desire to be in conformity with the Church's coaching because it pertains to ethical sexuality besides as respecting the consideration of human existence - it extremely is, once you're severe relating to the Church pondering it. Such an "practise" software unquestionably can't ential the distribution of artifiical start administration - NO way!. The Church won't evaluate any "practise" software that includes distribution of guy-made start administration.

The government spent a lot of money on solving GM's problem. That didn't solve anything.
Do you really think throwing money at something is enough, and that the catholic church is just a bunch of rich old prudes too selfish to dole out their cash? How simplistic of you to think the answer to abortion is simply cash.

You know what I think the Catholic church could do to reduce the amount of abortions? Stop condemning the use of protection.
