How to prevent cat's hair from getting napping up?
Ok. I've had a couple of long hair cats for a couple of years now and about a few months ago their fur starting getting naps in them. We try to cut them out with scissors and it works, but when it starts growing longer, it naps up again. Is there something I can give them to prevent this from happening? I don't understand why it's happening. It doesn't look like cat dandruff. Please help if you can.

Cats need to be brushed often, especially if they're long haired. It's like us never brushing our hair. The FURminator is a wonder brush that weeds out the undercoat. Try that.

I experienced the same thing - I would keep cutting the places out of my cat's hair, but always afraid of getting too close to skin. I do, however, brush my cat every single day. I ended up taking her to her vets. The vet took this metal brush that had long teeth on it, and got every single tangle out. No cutting on hair! I was amazed. Good luck.

by naps in his fur, do you mean it forms clumps? if so, he needs brushing several times a week
