Why do people ask for "baby names"?
Why do people ask advice for "good baby names", while the fact is that these "babies" won't stay babies that long and spend the majority of their lives as adults?
Why not just ask for good names for soon-to-be grown-up people?

Well the obvious answer is because you name them when they are babies. But I get your point and I agree that people should keep in mind when choosing names for their child that the name should be as appropriate for an adult as for a child.

well, most people that come on here are expecting a baby, so it's like saying "names for a baby", which is pretty much the same as "baby names". haha i hope that kind of made sense. Haha hope this helped and best wishes =)

Because most people get their names as a baby. We could just say "any people names??" but people may get confused...

They will be named as a baby. You aren't going to name an adult. Wouldn't it be stupid if people were like; Names for my adult? I mean really, isn't it obvious as to why the questions are asked like that?

Babies has fewer letters and is easier to type than soon-to-be grown-up people. Plus, typing hyphens is a *****.

Because they are not giving birth to soon to be grown up people, they are babies.

This is the Baby Name catagory.....besides that we all start out as babies,thus it is titled a baby name.

Cause if you asked for adult names you would get Bob, Roger, Mark, and Carl. ...?
