  • Should the makers of the movie "2012" be sued?

Should they be sued about spreading fear, lies and misinformation among the general population?

The same goes with all the crackpots who cash in with this 2012 crap, like the Emmerich brothers and Sony does.

I'm pretty sure they have caused a couple of suicides already.

  • BeBook (Hanlin) e-book reader?

Does anyone have any experience of the Bebook (actually Hanlin eReader) e-book reader?

Is it any good, worth the money? User experiences will also be appreciated.

  • Why do people ask for "baby names"?

Why do people ask advice for "good baby names", while the fact is that these "babies" won't stay babies that long and spend the majority of their lives as adults?

Why not just ask for good names for soon-to-be grown-up people?

  • What is this 2012 thing?

Why do people keep asking if the world will end in 2012 in the astronomy section? It's getting really old now.

This has NOTHING to do with actual, real astronomy. This question really belongs to the parapsychology / flim-flam section!

  • Is Russia a danger to it's neighboring countries?

I'm watching the situation in Russia from a neighbouring country (Finland).

Since Putin came to power, Russia has become increasingly arrogant and chauvinist towards a number of it's neighbouring countries. With all the oil and gas money, the old Soviet-style bullying behavior seems to be back.

In Russia, many people seem to support the slogan "Russia for Russians" (whatever that means, I always thought Russia was a multi-ethnic country) and even support the "returning of the borders of the Imperial Russia", which would effectively mean a Third World War starting in Europe!

What is even worse, Russians themselves don't seem to find anything wrong in this. Do Russians really want these kinds of things? Do Russians really want to invade their neighbors and oppress them into submission? If so, how does all this differ from what Nazi Germany did?

I'm deeply worried by this situation. Will my family die in a war against Russia in the future? I really do ask myself this question more than often these days.

  • Why do Russians hate "the West" so much?

Why do Russians seem to be so hateful against "the West" (EU, USA, Western countries in general)? They seem to assume that the EU/NATO/USA/whatever is just seconds away from a full-scale Barbarossa-style attack against Russia.

My view is that the western border of Russia, or the Russia-EU-border, is probably the most peaceful border Russia has today. So why the crazy paranoia against the West? NO ONE is going to attack Russia from Europe!
