What besides Hill's W/D can I feed my cat with clostridium?
In March of 2009, I adopted a cat from the Shelter. They had attempted for 9 months to get the cat's clostridium bacterium under conrol. There are pages of vet visits, and the only thing that seemed to work for him was W/D dry food. When fed anything else he has liquid feces of the smelliest kind. It also dehydrates him. With W/D, he has healthy looking feces, but has to go within minutes of eating. As a consequence, he constantly has to eat. It is costing me $3 per day to feed him over and above vet bills. I've tried just about every wet food as well as tuna in oil and tuna in water. He immediately has a liquid bowel movement, and is hungry right away. Can somebody help me with this?
Thank you,
Tim O

This is such the worst cat food to feed an cat. I kind of wish it was illegal for cats
I have not dealt with your disease so I have no expertise on this. from your description though, it sounds simple enough to fight (I know you don't buy that lol)
feed grain free canned food like wellness or merrick
An even better option would be a raw diet that you would have to make yourself as they have to be specially prepared
No dry foods
He can eat as much as he wants of grain free canned
Add probiotics like acidoupholous to the food 1/8th a teaspoon 2x a day
It comes in powdered form at health food stores otherwise pill form in pharmacy's
You can also give plain yogurt as a treat once in a while as that may help with the bacteria too
Hope this helps

If Hills W/D is working for him, keep him on that diet. He does not need to be fed constantly, measure out the amount he is supposed to eat daily (as directed on the bag) and only give him that much. He isn't hungry, he just wants to eat.
