Do you prefer power or fame?

Does either power or fame have an effect on you? That is either on your sex drive or on your interest about dating/marrying someone?

Update:

Actually when thinking of power I had Mrs Madoff in mind. I can't figure out if she loved him or the status he gave her.

Update 2:

When talking about fame I was thinking about Magic Johnson. I mean, he had so many women that it became a health hazard. That's what fame gave him.

    Power, no contest.

Power's a turn on; a powerful partner is a must for me, always has been.

Having personal power is also a must for me. I have a control streak when it comes to my life, and have felt powerless...easily one of the worst feelings I've ever felt, and one of the worst i can ever feel.

Personal power over my life, myself and my future is extremely important to me, and having a pretty solid hold on it definitely makes me feel secure and comfortable.

Power, definitely. I'd never want to be famous.

Anonymity is important in many situations. Fame may cause people to be less honest or to act unusually around you, and it would rob you of the ability to view the world from the objective perspective of the unremarkable person for as long as you live. Also, when it gets to extreme levels, having a private life becomes less and less possible - some people crave that kind of attention, though.

Most of us experience something resembling fame within our social circles, anyway - the only thing that widespread fame would do is rob you of your ability to experience anonymity.

EDIT: I reject the idea that power isn't desirable. Most of the world's untouched wonders (particularly in my field) are accessible only with the cooperation of many - meaning that if you want to explore them, you need to be able to influence a large number of people and a large pool of resources. Without power and organization, the entire field of particle physics (as well as others that don't happen to be my passion) would be an inexplorable blank.

Power I think I'd go crazy with a sort of God Complex. I think I'd be able to handle fame. But in relation to that sort of stuff. I think power I would probably dispose of men - like sleep with them and get rid of them. haha but I'm just assuming that's what I'd do. Um.. fame. I think I would date long term and/or marry.

Both have their share of problems, but probably power. It lasts a lot longer than fame, and with power you can keep your privacy a lot better.

I have no interest in fame. And power has numerous sources - which source are you referring to? If it's all the same to you, I'll take the power conferred by wealth.

Neither; I prefer confidence, a sense of humor, intelligence, and an upbeat way of looking at the world.
