Update:

Thank you all

Update 2:

Thank you all

Update 3:

thank you all for your responses. I'm going to give Best to the 1st answerer.

Reason: looks like vj was off a couple hundred gallons. you other 2 have top contributor status so let's get her closer to that staus. If I could I would give you all points.

Thanks a lot all.

    v=pi*r^2*h=3.14*81*4=1017.36 cubic feet

    1 cubic foot = 7.48051945 US gallons

    multiply them together to get 7610 gallons

    volume cylinder = area base * height = pi * r^2 * h = pi*(9^2) * 4 = 324 pi cubic feet = 1018 cu ft.

    1 cu ft is 7.48 US gallons (Imperial gallon is 25% larger.)

    7614 US gallons

    V = pi*r^2 * h

    V = pi*9^2 * 4

    V = 324pi

    use a conversion table between ft^3 and gallons.

    depth of cylinder = 4 ft = 48 inches = 48x 2.54 cm= 121.92 cm

    radius of cylinder = 9 ft = 108 inches = 108 x 2.54 cm =274.32 cm

    Vol of cylinder = π r^2h = 3.14(274.32cm)^2 (121.92 cm)

    = 28389887.98 cm^3

    = 28389.88L

    = 28389.88L/4.546 L per gallon

    = 6245.02 gallons (Answer)

    This answer is in Imperial gallons.

    Answer in US gallons = 28389.88/3.8 L

    = 7471.02 US gallons (Answer)
